Better ideas beckon

Misery and mayhem of war - it lasts for generations. There is no glory in it. It spells the end.

Tis time for better ideas in the 21st century.

So at Gettysburg - Lee tried to get the flank and the fellas from Maine held their ground at Little Round Top gainst those rebels from Alabama and Tejas - and what were Lee’s choices after 2 days of heated conflict at a location none chose?

Twas not wise to do a Pickett’s charge - twas the act of general with diarrhea - and better choice would have been to slowly withdraw in a manner of confusion and leave some troops behind on defensive lines in forested area on top of hills in defense - and then let supplies catch up - but stay in Pennsylvania awaiting a better opportunity.

Or if the Yankees sensed retreat - setup traps for them as they pursue - and being the fucked up civil war lasted two more years there is no doubt this approach would have been better - but hindsight is 20-20 no doubt and so-called expert guides are biased in how they report the battle but bottom line proven is Pickett’s Charge was a “gift” to Lincoln and his federal control mindset so misguided and detached from the founding principles - but now no doubt - here we find ourselves……comes as no surprise to me, but when the history is only told by the so-called “victors” and they don’t tell it true - it means their time of victory will likely be short-lived.

That is the lesson of history no doubt - time for some hard lesson all around I reckon. And I don’t want to go back to that battlefield ever again - cause there are dead bodies there still - never found, but their spirits remain - and they remain animated - for good reason - cause there remain unresolved issues.
