So my wife and I visited the Gettysburg National Park for the 2nd time - cause the 1st time we went there our kids were young it was raining persistently and they hadn't yet built the new visitor center.

A few comments from the visit are as follows:

1. I find it offensive to have to pay to go into the museum at a National Park at a civil war battlefield.

2. The food they had there sucked and was over-priced.

3. Lincoln's voice in the video was very uninspiring - diminutive if you want my opinion.

4. If damn Jeb whats his name of the Confederate cavalry was "doing his job" versus galivanting around probably getting laid somewhere by somebody else every night then it could be Lee would have had better info.

5. The tour guide new his script and I chose not to engage but he was biased in favor of the Yankees.

6. Lee had diarrhea is what I read in some book years ago - and if not for that he maybe wouldn't have done the ill-advised Pickett's charge.

7. At the end of the day it was an attempt to end the war and Lee knew twas - now or never - so he took the risk - but there were other options.

8. Lincoln's "premise" that the Union must remain together at all costs - is why so many died in the Civil War - and why the South was burned by Sherman and why we find ourselves in this predicament we are in today.

9. The founders to a degree especially Jefferson and Madison felt states are sovereign entities of their own accord and are member of the Union when it is evidently mutually beneficial but within the framework of the Constitution - secession was essentially meant to always be an option.

10. Frankly, I think secession remains and option - and there need not be a civil war - just let the states depart if that is what they desire ought be the lesson of the Civil War in America - cause this country has lost its way - and has become detached from the founding principles and all those soldiers didn't need to die during Pickett's Charge - what a shame it all is and history is full of places that have lost glory - and once it is lost is never returns.

Tis time for better ideas in the 21st century.
