I don't know why I'm staying up so late tonight.....I'm trying to think about my favorite poker hand in the evening - there were so many - tis hard to choose - hmmmm.....I guess if my hand was forced I would say it was the one where you "flip you own" - low card down wild - 3 cards dealt down at first and then four more rounds 1 card deal in each - and then "flip your own" each time - knowing the low card "down" is Wild! That is a fine game - and I said - odds are 4 of a kind at least wins this - full house for sure.....but oh know- we each got dealt total shit - and the hand was one by a straight I seem to recall - and the probability of that being there were six players playing poker as they have many times on 6/6 in the year of 2025 - I'd say if the six players all basically know the game - the probability of that is less than 1% - possibly much less.
That I guess if forced to choose was my favorite hand of the evening.....and the host was gracious and it was good to play poker with pals.
What an amazing Father's Day present you created there. The artist in you is obviously thriving. That moves me, especially as mine is kind of de-hydrating. Missing the water of love and life. Alas my friend, there are good news on top of the recurring nonsense in my life. Thursday I had my DOT physical and passed with flying flags. Now I am ready to get my commercial learner's permit and with that - I am already scheduled to go "on the road again". And - last but definitely not least in any way: after seven years without a ride that I could call my own after escaping Hawai'i - I scored big time on an auction in Arcadia.
Yo - Wolfgang - just edited the article again - out of respect for you - and know this - I've played the MindIndustry game as well - and it ain't no Factorio! But it was fun and I played on my Ipad Pro.
The challenge nowadays often is finding a game worth playing is what I think - but you got some who like to drive trucks and you got some who like to get their hands dirty - consider me in the latter group - so do your thing - and if you show up in Fries and prove you are who you say you are - then I will have a Porter awaiting you - and we can drink it together on the porch. Who knows - maybe P&S will be there at the same time.
A man can dream and games are fun - but we have reached the moment - where it is time to separate the wheat from the chaff.
You know that - so get to it pal - and do something worthwhile is my suggestion to you - and then if we meet face-to-face, I'll be able to share more fully and you as well I suppose. Bottom line - it is good to be alive - and now is the time of transition - so get ready for big changes - they are on the way I think.....and odds are....I'll just be in the garden minding my own business - but an uninvited guest shows up - then be aware - I have defenses in place. So don't show up uninvited is my suggestion - if you do - don't be surprised if I teach you a lesson simple.
I mean really - some are made to drive trucks - that ain't me mind ya - but some just love getting on the road and the precision of it - but please - all you truck drivers out there - know the language of the land you be driving in!

* ps - when I got it it was on sale of $3.99 or some such - and I took a few of the "learner lessons" using my Steam "game-man" is what I call it - other call it the "Deck" - but maybe I'll put the time in to learn how to drive trucks - but I ain't got that in me to do it for "real" cause after a few hours driving I tend to get drowsy - I prefer staying close to home - I'm a homebody. My time is best spent in the garden of my making.
Hello Ken! Although I know the series - I have played "Train Simulator" and "Demolition Simulator" - I never tried the "Euro Truck Simulator". All of these provide some life like feeling - especially when played on a large screen. But the demolition simulator one was the first to get boring. After a few times, it is always the same. As was the train simulator. Maybe it is to show people how boring it is to sit all day in the locomotive - staring at the tracks? Hats up for these folks.
It is something different altogether when it comes to driving an 18 wheeler live. There is something to it that can't be explained. Or I can't explain it. For me, the main reason always was not to be in an office all day. Surrounded by drama. None of the office jobs I did, was free of drama. Drama is not my thing. Sitting on the wheel of a big rig - without constant exposure to others suits me well. As a child, I preferred to play with my Legos and slot cars over getting into disputes about whose turn it is next. It has to do with my ASD, probably. Many truckers have their pet with them and some are lucky to have their spouse at their side. The main reasons for me to get back into trucking are for one the pay and to do something for the country I have been living in for over thirty years. A shortage of truckers is bad for the supply chain - is bad for consumers that need to get their groceries and other things to get by. As a grown up trucker, I am an expert and safe driver. And I speak several languages fluently. The requirement to speak, write and understand English is not an issue for me. I demand that of all truckers driving on our roads. If someone wants to work on our highways - they must learn the language. It is bad apples trucking companies that are run by greed and not patriotism, that hire people that can hardly drive and don't speak or understand English. Every week there are accidents by drivers that are actually unfit to do their job. I am grateful for executive orders that demand truckers to speak and understand English. When I was a young lad, I was also loading and unloading my rig. That, I don't want to do anymore. The jobs I am already offered don't require that. Getting a CDL is not that difficult. It is just learning about the rig and the rules. You could do a cement truck and still make a lot of money and be home early every day. Having some extra cash won't hurt and gives you even more options with the garden and house. Needless to emphasize that I would also prefer to spend all day long in a nice yard I can call my own - planting, tending to the Plants, my Animals and building all the things I have invented and/or designed. Alas - no money, no honey...bees. I am receiving invitations for jobs based on my skills now and will figure out what to do next. The ranch is not conducive for improvement of life situation. Wishing you a grand day!
I might try to get through the "tutorial" in this game - but just like you I have my own preferences in the games I play - and driving the roads of Europe while maybe calming for some - for me might get boring - but let me be the first to say there have been games come along I thought I wouldn't appreciate but still sort of captured my attention - so while I don't think I will do the France scenario in that railroads game - and just to prove I know bout games I'll share a link on a game I do have that I think I will try in due time - I think I will try to learn how to drive a big rig in Europe - just for the hell of it cause it is sort of fun to learn I think.
Wow! That looks like a really nice game. The only question I have is: where do I get the time from to learn to play it? With Sid Meier's, I can just start another scenario that I have only played a couple a hundred times and go about it in a new way. This one looks quite demanding - which is actually what I like in a game. But with how everything is right now, I need to prioritize my CDLA and go through the knowledge test a few more time. It's only 697 questions...(but the actual test is only 60).
Well - you decided how to spend your time - but old games comfortable don't lead to learning is what I think.....and that is why I just have a hard time bringing myself to play Factorio again or even Oxygen Not Included these days - I tried Satisfactory but it wasn't my cup of tea Wolfgang.
Sounds like a path tis forming......after the "learner's permit" is "blessed" - then I reckon - See in Fries Wolfgang!
😊
3-7-1 for the Belmont Stakes is my bet!
If you get there - a porter will be awaiting you and a place to park your rig!
Ken
ps - Sovereignty won the Derby but declined the Preakness and is Horse #2 - something about eliminating the possibility of a "triple-crown" rubs me the wrong way - so now you no my sentiment on horse #2 - moreover - tis my humble opinion there ought be a minimum of 9 horses in the race - just like I remain of the conviction that Pluto is a planet!
Interesting that "Journalism" came in from behind and won. If that would only be the case in real life. In real life it seems that both horses - Journalism and Sovereignty are already dead. One day however, I will be there and place my bets (within reason) to score another treasure.
It runs deeper than that - ALL the horses in the Derby - where many were entered - were apparently directly descended from Secretariat - a Triple Crown Winner.
~
Now - no offense that that fine horse - but if ALL of the stallions are coming from just a few - well - that is a recipe for poor performance. And truly - tis offense to horse race lovers what Sovereignty did - not running in the Preakness - that will lower the value of said horse after its racing days are finished.
Recently, there where two retired race Horses at the ranch. They left after only a few weeks. Retired race Horses are not easy to handle. All they are trained for is winning - not socializing with others, be it Human or Horses. But they were really good looking. Tall, with perfect gait.
Well you know what the elitist would say don't ya Wolfgang - if they can't be of value then - put them down.
Personally - tis my view the elitist ought look in a fine silver mirror reflection almost perfectly and say that to themselves!
I don't know about you - but I ain't no puppet - and who they think they are - string pullers - how bout their strings start getting cut - in fact - this is already happening - cause justice must be served - and Lady Libra suffers no fools.
There is more to the story. The people who owned the retired race horses had inherited one and bought another one. The guy (early thirties) had very little experience on a horse and wanted us to just saddle her up and ride it. We declined. For reasons of liability. Offered to give him basic lessons on how to saddle and bridle the Horse and be safe in the saddle. After a few weeks declining the offer, they took the Horses out of boarding and left. He would not accept that it would be on the ranch in the case he got injured.

That is smart - I'm the same way!
Hey - have you tried this game yet?

To each their own I reckon - but the truck game was serious and I heard driving in Spain is a pain in the ass!
