So, I'm "playing" around with the setting here for the "colors/shades/tints" call it what you will. What is in the foreground and what is in the background. There are few default options and I've optimized things I guess in that regard as I've been "playing" around with it today. But, you can enter in a "color" code and I appreciate that feature cause this "light-blue-grey" background tint is not exactly what I think I want....I think I want it to be a bit darker and maybe a bit more blue. So, I'll go find that "color-code" and then I will enter it and see if it is more to my tastes.

Like I said, I appreciate that "web-design" option and it is true I've got other websites and I have had them now for something like almost 20 years, but maybe just 17....anyhow, a pretty long time and I think Substack has done a commendable job in making the process to have a place to share ideas really accessible. I think that is laudable. That is why I put forth an effort to invest when the opportunity was presented.....just a small amount, but I think it makes sense to ask folks who have a Substack place to invest in it. That makes good sense to me, so I tried - hopefully at least some of the funds offered will be accepted.

Peace,

Ken

So I did it - what I said I was going to do. I changed the background color from #eaf1e8 to #f0f8ff. I prefer the latter and that is why I changed the color accordingly and I suspect I may be one of the only SubStack authors out there with this color combo - probably the only one.

Now, if you think I'm talking trash, here are the corresponding color codes respectively: 234, 241, 232 versus 240, 248, 255 . I prefer the later, it is referred to as "Alice Blue". The shade might be a bit more tiring if you look at at too long, so get outside and get into the sun is what this shade suggest - plus I think it goes better with the complimenting color and I also think I'm going "ReStack" this post but maybe not.....who knows.

Anyhow, for now these are the colors here and yes this new color is a bit more vibrant but I don't think it is too much and I prefer it.

I'm guessing after they get some additional funds they might work on a way to fairly seamlessly allow for different types of text - in particular having a simple "italic", "bold", "underline" feature in the comments proper would be helpful. Maybe there is a way to do it already, but it is not easily accessible and that is an improvement that I think would be appreciated assuming it can be done without compromising anything.

That is the kind of feedback I would provide assuming I become an "investor".

A little explanation might be of value so why not.

Picture #1 was from a cabbage plant ("Green Acre") I grew last year - that was probably the biggest head of them all.

Picture #2 is a jigsaw puzzle I put together and it is framed now and hanging over a fireplace in the place adjacent - could be a "dog-house" if need be, but it a place I'm proud of.

Picture #3 is me - what you see is what you get.

Picture #4 is tomatoes from last year's crop.

Picture #5 is some fine artistry merged with some supposed "green garnet" stones I got from somebody out of India and I have their business card in my office back in Charlotte, and I sure hope those little pieces of rock are what they were claimed to be because I paid fair & square - the fine artistry is from a friend of mine out of Russia and she can make jewelry and I'm most displeased that I am unable to purchase goods from her presently - most displeased.....but what you gonna do I reckon?

Picture #6 is the fireplace after the mortar was chipped off, repairs made to both the fire place and the solid bit of stone at the hearth, and then painted diligently and then caulk applied around the edges to an extent - it don't look like this presently - it looks better, but there is still work to be done.

So, from now on, once a week on Monday I will post pictures regarding the progress of my garden ambitions. Much thanks to all readers here and especially to those take the time to make a post.

With respect,

Nice pictures Ken, I always enjoy getting a visual on your life. We are due to start planting soon and if I can get the hang of publishing pics (working on it when I have time) then I will respond.

Our season really starts in April (SW England) depending on the weather as we can get sudden frosts even up to May/June. But with 16+hours of daylight in the summer months, plants grow like crazy (which is why the Vikings came in the first place). Otherwise it's a dismal location not far off the Arctic Circle made temperate by the Gulf Stream. If it moves - we're done for - we will be up to our balls in permafrost!

Looking forward to your 'Monday Missives'

Cheers

So, between you and I P&S, I place the order, but I used a different supplier. I got on the phone with the ones I've been making purchases of this nature recent because for some reason my order required me to call somebody on the phone. So, I called them direct, hit all the proper numbers, and to make a long story short at the end of the call I said simply - I will find another supplier.

Then I did what I said I would do and next time if this order goes seamless, I'll give them banking info because the price is cheaper if you do it that way. At the end of the day, where there is a will there is a way and I'd just assume have physical goods than have "currency in the bank not trustworthy". I think you know what I mean when I type that and if there is anything more important than food and nourishment day-to-day, then I'm all ears, but I think having food supplied locally is Step #1 to detaching from the nefarious forces trying to subsume us pompously.

That is why I have garden ambitions.

Me too Ken. But the banks are working to get us into their net: I had this from my bank today: "Not only does this give you the flexibility to manage all of your accounts in one place, on the go, but it also gives you secure access with fingerprint or Face ID recognition." http://emailcomms.hsbc.co.uk/nl/jsp/m.jsp?c=%40nLhWnuLJ1BNRe3I3vRs0IXxoSMA%2B%2BKdipqnXn9II5JY%3D

They are using all their guile to trap us in the CBDC net! ID 2020 - DO NOT COMPLY https://www.theburningplatform.com/2022/10/28/id2020-your-digital-id-of-the-future-has-arrived/

Could be it is time to get a new bank if they are going to ascribe to that.

I consider a bank a place to deposit funds securely, but if they want to get into my head and get my data, then bug off I say to them, I'll find another bank.

I'm in the midst of trying to make a purchase, but so far things seem to be stifled.

If the "poles" shift England is in for even a bigger shaking and to be honest I think the poles are fixing to shift, but your place there in SW England seems like it is the best option for you presently being South Africa seems to be heading towards chaos more quickly.

Now, I'm gonna go see if I can figure out what the hold up is on this purchase I'm trying to make in order to preserve the hard work I did in the past.

Tis a wonderful time to be alive......is it not?

Every day is a mystery!

Yep, every day is an exciting learning experience for me, Ken; it is indeed a wonderful time to be alive. Think how boring it would be if we were not under attack every day?

That is an unfair question because you and I both know how much better things could be.

The task at hand is to push forward towards that dream I think we share where local commerce is common place on commonweal is understood by all who want to participate.....if you don't want to participate that is your choice, but don't begrudge the rest of us who understand what commonweal means.

You're right of course Ken. My belief is that as the individual pursues his own course with honesty and integrity he benefits society as a whole - the common good.

"Scottish philosopher and economist Adam Smith, in his classic 1776 book Wealth of Nations, argues that in systems of “natural liberty” where people are allowed through the “invisible hand” of a free-market economy to pursue their own self-interest, “Individual ambition serves the common good.” In saying this, Smith contends that “universal opulence which extends itself to the lowest ranks of the people,” will ultimately result in the advancement of the common good."
