I would like to post a link here in memory of somebody who met me one time a long time ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGM1T0t7qts - it is from Debussy and if you want to get to the moving song go about 12 minutes in, but the piano playing in genius just as the piano playing of Prokofiev is and so let me share a link to that as well....Russian genius is what Prokofiev was, just like Mendeleev and just like Kropotkin if you can imagine that.

I remember when I met her and I remember her fondly. A memory of youth lost.

Parzival - I thought you might appreciate a decision I have made regarding the other place where we sometimes encounter each other - it is simple, after reading many thoughts and ideas I have decided "not to engage" with somebody I sort of thought was a friend (I don't take that easy) and somebody I could tell right of the bat was full of snacky crap. Still, without meeting face-to-face tis truly hard to know the mind of another or their sentiment in general....it is easy to be a judge of another's character when face-to-face (at least I think it is easy for me), but talking across the wires is another matter entirely is what I think. Still, most of the time it is evident......but when you find out you "got somebody wrong"....at least for me...that sets me back and gets me thinking and then assuming I'm still circling around, then I come back and try to learn from what transpired.

I'm sure you are a consoling ear and voice for the veterans you attend to, or at least that is how I picture it so please don't tell me if I am wrong - I don't want to know. I'm pretty sure I'm not so patient and that you have the veteran's well-being first and foremost in your healing efforts - so God Bless you for that and my Lord knows (as yours I sense)....what matters is merit. MERIT matters.

Justice must be served and there comes a time when the only solution is justified retribution. Justified Retribution.

Sadly, it seems that time is upon us presently. It didn't have to be this way.

Godspeed to you and let me offer up a toast to you direct Parzival.

Together we are better.

With Respect,

Ken

Well thanks Ken. I have a lot of respect for you and your family and what you have going on in your neck of the woods. I appreciate your love of community and when you come to make comments on Sign...

I do have the best interests of the vets first and foremost. How many guys do you know get up @ 0330 hrs, in the wee hours of the AM, and get to work by 5 for a 7 am shift to spend a whole day talking and interacting w/veterans, commiserating, filling Rx's, scheduling appointments with their Dr.'s and RN's, and sometimes holding their hands, or holding their wives, spouses, girlfriends and widows hands. It can be quite exhausting. But it can be uplifting too.

So many times in a day I get offered blessings like, "God Bless you and what you do for us veterans." So many times I am able to offer blessings back. What other job has that? Why do I get there 2 hours before I begin my work shift? Because I take the quiet time there for introspection. I think about the kind of day I'd like and offer it to the Holy Spirit, cause He really guides me along with Jesus. After all Jesus said to his apostles, I will never leave you. And he meant that to us by extension.

So God Bless you too Ken, and your family and friends. I'm glad you set up this substack. I'd visit it more but I'm pretty worn out by the time I get home. I don't have the privilege of having someone to come home to and break bread with. It's my choice, and I'm not complaining, it's just that it takes a lot more time to cook for one, clean for one, delve into hobbies for one. Sounds lonely but, I'm too busy to be lonely, and not just busy to be busy.

Thanks for the note, I'll be in touch and on that other site too!

I send a toast back to you too!

Love,

P

Stunning pics Ken. I have promised to publish some of my own - but they are not there yet - VERY late! Patience is a virtue!

Things are taking off here too, big time. I can barely keep up and the Wife is working overtime canning. We still have much we share with our neighbors, family, and her co workers. Happy gardening Ken.
