Update 7 - 42725
Seriously stifled sprouts I'm dealing with and wood ambitions from a Heritage Tree Sweet
Update - I said I wasn’t going to do this - but I couldn’t help myself - meet the baby bird most hungry!
There are two other in there I think an a proper mama bird who if…..
I hear her fervent chirping - cause she’s worried bout something - then I’ll be out there and I don’t mind snakes nor racoons or hawks or whatever - don’t mess with them little chicks now!

Well - I don’t know why - the sprouts got stifled. Images below:
Oh wait - that is the fox hired to watch over the sprouts residing in some nice Southern Red Oak.
Here are the “sad sprouts” - I had to transplant - each and every one of them - the soil I think was contaminated - and so far - seems they feel a bit better by virtue all them little baby leaves have grown - now that the roots got some better soil I reckon.
If you can “spy” it - there is a toad in this image - and said toad jumped upon me today and made me squeal like a little girl! Said toad buried itself in a pot and I noticed the disturbance not knowing twas done by a toad - and decided to transplant a few disturbed - and lo-and-behold - said toad had buried itself there!
Now ain’t life a mystery - every day when trying to be a peppa farmer!
~
I’m doing the best I can to salvage this peppa-tomato season. I’m so glad I overwintered some prime “mamas” - cause I know they are well - so no worries on my end - I’m just a bit sad the plants are unlikely to have the spender they did last year around the time of July - but no matter - that is when the Buff Orpington chicks will be arriving - and my family kin direct!
I hope Update #8 has more cheer - and plants decided to grow.

One more update - shows the toad jumped out of the little pot today - scared the “bejeesus” out of me!
Can you see it now in the image above?

Seems you took care of that in a nicko' time! ;-)
I can see it Ken, easily. "Now ain’t life a mystery - every day when trying to be a peppa farmer!" But Ken, nature is a mystery whatever I am doing! The Great Creator holds the reigns and we are merely travellers. His Will not mine - Inshallha!
