For me, the beauty of an anagram is it getting you thinking - is it all a coincidence?
I'll be honest, truly, I don't think it is - I mean how could it be if the letters are the same.
So what is one to make of the fact that the 2-word anagrams for George Washington are:
hogging stoneware
nohow segregating
~
this is my take on it - I think washington pretended he wasn't but he did sort of hog the stoneware...and only because he had proven his mettle on the battlefield did he get deference for this, but that leads to the next anagram which is "nohow segregating" and I'm not kidding that makes me think about Hamilton, and frankly, that was one of many of Washington's mistakes....but nobody is perfect are they?
I wonder what the anagrams are for Alexander Hamilton. I think I'll post those next.
BTW - Nothing doing on the beans - they have gone to sleep and the only one that's got to 2" has stopped and is looking rather sick. It's been sunny for 2 weeks now with a static High in, so I am at a loss. I shall be planting new ones straight into my plot tomorrow and see how that goes. (PS I am using Enorma which I have used for years)
that link you provided is funny as hell, but now let me go look up logophile - hells bells, I'm on page 1331, 1st row down on the left and the word is NOT there. Where it would of been is proceeded by "logopedics" the study of speech defects apparently and logorrhea - pathologically excessive and often incoherent talkativeness.
Sons of bitches P&S - are you trying to set me up in a semantic puzzle of definitions lacking? I'm guessing not, but this is sort of too funny in a way and maybe I need a better dictionary?
Either way - I like word play!
and your beans seems to need help - seems as if there is something amiss....I hope it is one-off, but if I were you, I'd start putting contingencies in place.
I have put a plan in place Ken - we are returning to Simons Town in Oct/Nov this year - we have had enough of UK - it's going down - quicker not than I had thought. Did you see what I wrote about South Africa the other week?
I'll check it out but rumors I've heard is South Africa is not necessarily the most desirable place to be these days, so please don't take unnecessary risks. Maybe there is another place better you can get to on your boat - I just don't think South Africa is a good place to be presently - to much hot air blowing around there.
I'm sure you know best for your situation, but please don't let emotions get the best of you - it could be a place in the Caribbean might be better - did you know the Pirates used to hang around out there and some of them I think remain.
I'm thinking your beans have been befalled for some reason inexplicable one would hope....I'm not sure if I'm a logophile or a lexophile - probably a bit of each and when it comes to deemsters....my advice is just to ignore those Isle of Man dipshits!
A logophile is a lover of words - a semantics artist one could speculate whereas, a "lexophile" is a lover of words said another way I reckon. Let me go check to make sure - is lexophile really in Merrian Webster - let me go check official....I'll be right back...page 1302 in the 3rd new International Unabridged....you got lexnonscripta - unwritten law; common law, and then you got lexprivata - Roman law of private contract....there aint no lexophile to be had. Don't be making up words here P&S - you got common law and roman law and you have a lover of words and the word for that must be a logophile!
ok, think about it...lex = law, non=not, scripta = written....lexnonscripta is law unwritten but known - ergo - common law. It has standing.
Now you got after that being this pathetic dictionary doesn't include lexophile...whatever...after that you have: lex = law...privata= private roman bs I reckon? I give no heed to roman law, but common law is forever.
As for logophile I don't know about you but I don't want no more logorrhea...but if you take antibiotics diarrhea can be a side effect and that is why after tomorrow when I get my root canal done finally, I will start taking some probiotics to get my gut health back to where it belongs!
I plan in advance even though nobody knows when they will be inflicted with a tooth abscess I reckon....
Ha ha - you got it right Ken - sorry to be so slow, I have been playing in my garden and generally missing my emails!
BTW - my good neighbour, an excellent gardener, told me what I had done wrong - too much watering, the beans have rotted. So I was out today planting runner beans (Enorma) straight into the bed and I am expecting to see them in 10 days! I shall report back.
OK P&S - I got a good one for you word-wise, it comes from M&W and sort of describes me a bit - here it is:
"pareidolia"
Pareidolia refers to the tendency to perceive a specific and often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern.
// For those especially prone to pareidolia, a simple piece of toast can get distracting.
~~~~
I sort of like the sentence used, even though it seems a tad "circular" to me, but with that said, you may not know, this but I have gone on record saying the following:
"NATO is Toast" - so is the EU if you want my opinion and I've said that as well....I wonder if I have "pareidolia" - ha, ha.
I hope Plan B is being securely and properly implemented and that your "time of transition" is uneventful and you all find yourselves relocated safely without incident or difficulty!
Thank you so much for your kind words and good wishes, Ken. We are indeed on target with Pickfords shipping our personal effects on September 18. Then we have spare time until the wife flies out at the end of October and me end November when Pickfords give me an ETA Cape Town.
Thank you for a new 'word' and you have it correct and I am sure your view of EU/NATO is equally correct. The end of empires is not pretty but there will always be isolated spots of liberty left and USA is a big place but not that big as it goes into Africa three times!
I shall be happy in Africa methinks!
Blessings
PS Getting to photo my beans at the weekend! Pics should be up in my Letter Sept 16.
Hey P&S - you comment inspired me to edit this post - I've added a new image - check it out if you care, but no denying Africa is a big place and frankly I think the French need to be kicked out accordingly as seems to be occurring and then let Africa get on with the business of small-scale business if you know what I mean - I mean Schumacher called it in the 70's and the time is now!
I just loved the vitriol seeping off the pages in Schumacher's Small is Beautiful - I swear that fella must be kin to me, cause he touched my heart for sure.
Oh Ken - I am humbled that you have chosen to edit on the basis of my scribbles. I have no wish to influence anyone, especially you, for whom I hold a high regard, as a true human being in love and compassion. The world is sadly rather short of saints but I am sure you will add to the pack. :-)
Well I got them now Ken - in spades - when we looked at the crop today and I photo'ed it for you next week. I am a happy teddy and the beans turned out OK in the end - but it was long coming this year! :-) Very odd season, which i have never seen before.
I'm a logophile and a lexophile and I admit it - I believe common law is where it is at...and these things are not a coincidence....funny how things connect sometimes, but good in a way. Mutual Aid as espoused by Kropotkin makes good sense to me today - more than ever.
I think those capture it.
Lets play some word games - shall we?
Are You a Logophile or Lexophile, 'Ken'? Logophiles and lexophiles love words, and paraprosdokians are a form of wordplay. https://owlcation.com/humanities/Word-Play-What-is-Paraprosdokian
Yes I know Ken and your prescription is exactly what I would do. Gut heath is so important and most don't know that our gut has a special brain too. https://www.biznews.com/health/2022/11/22/microbiome-system
I will leave the 'words' to word-smiths like you Ken - I am no match! :-)
Ha ha - you got it right Ken - sorry to be so slow, I have been playing in my garden and generally missing my emails!
If you get the runner beans this time before you head of to South Africa (see post above) my advice is twofold:
1. Save some of the seeds for next year; and
2. Go the Caribbean instead.
Ken
