Brilliant work Ken, well done. And I love your mouse traps. I do the same with our mountain brown rats, but our local ranging cats keep them pretty much under control. They don't bother us. I will cover some of our life here in my new personal Substack when my Part 2 is finished, and that will mean either permanent peace of the final showdown. It's in the hands of the Almighty at present: https://anamihalceamdphd.substack.com/p/us-transhumanist-party-and-the-transhumanist
So I've "checked out the property" we have just gone on contract to acquire - I walked it today with a good neighbor friend of mine - tis just over 1 acre with easy access not too far away from our "getaway" places - and oh boy - the options it opens up for me P&S!
~
When you get here in '26 - by then I expect this new place we are acquiring; for really not much relatively speaking - will be amended a bit for the better and being put to good use for the sake of "scaling-up" while still remaining small. And my good neighbor told me - it is possible one could find some "gold flakes" in this little stream - and funny thing is - I had a dream about that beforehand....but I live in the moment mainly these days - one day at a time - and I feel best when I feel as if I am sharing good cheer with others I interact with - and while my neighbor and I were "walking" this potential new property we met a kind fella and his associate and I got his number and it could be a "win-win" for some near-term projects - and there is truly nothing better than "win-win" outcomes - and this is possible and can gain momentum when a certain mindset settles in.....
Good stuff Ken and I am so excited for you, much as in1977 when I acquired a two acre field and worked it up over some 20 years to be a productive smallholding. And I will be doing similar in Zimbabwe this year with my good friend and client, Arnold who owns two acres 60km north of Harare. His plans are like yours and mine - it will be called "Arnold's Organics".
And talking of win-win, I am commenting this Saturday, in my Letter from SA, on exactly this sentiment regarding the SA government here.
That is beautiful Ken, you are a poet who doesn't know it! I will save this in my archive for future review to remember a kind and caring special internet friend! Perhaps it could be my epitaph?
Only, as a Viking, I won't have a grave. My funeral will be my yacht afire on the high seas with my body aboard. "Few rituals in human history are as iconic and evocative as the Viking funeral. These ceremonies, deeply rooted in Norse culture and mythology, serve as a fascinating window into the beliefs, values, and traditions of the Viking Age.
While popular culture often depicts Viking funerals as flaming ships sent adrift on the open sea, the reality of these ceremonies was far more nuanced and varied. The Viking funeral was not merely a way to dispose of the dead; it was a profound expression of reverence, storytelling, and spirituality. To understand the essence of this ancient rite, one must delve into the traditions, symbolism, and mythology that shaped these awe-inspiring ceremonies." https://vikingghost.com/the-viking-funeral-honoring-the-dead-with-fire-and-song/
That is lovely P&S. I'm a Viking as well - I got a t-shirt to prove it - I'm literally going to get it just now and then I will read what it says....a moment friend:

Out of respect for nuance and you my friend I will not post an image of this, but know this - it was given to me by my wife and it reads:
So, I have repaired both of the leaks shown in the top video above. The leak at the two-way splitter was a pain in the butt and I finally had to replace the piece for which I'm wondering if I used the incorrect gasket - no matter I had some spare parts and installed them with deliberation and best I know (I'm fixing to do a final test) that leak is no more. The other leak seems to have resolved upon its own and that leak was into the final valve which I sealed with a special tool and truly this Pex-A tubing is super easy - anybody just about could do it - and a philosophy I ascribe to is "when it comes to water tubing, the fewer the connections the better" - cause that decreases the likelihood of any leaks.
OK - time to put pressure on the line and she “see” if it holds in an acceptable manner.

Go well good buddy,
AP
For sure P&S. I love it.
May the wind be at your back - the canvas of the sails at your disposal...
May the angels watch over you with love...may your friends be grateful....
May you mother remember you fondly and your father as well.
~
May all your dreams come true!
May you be somebody lives up to the dreams you have for both yourself and those you love.
May you have many good friends....and
~
May the wind be at your back.

Poem for you P&S - on the fly!
