I'm "this-close" to being done in the backroom of our fine little mill home there....the thermometers are most decorative. And if you recall on a separate article I mentioned we had made an offer on some nearby property - and after dealing with a bunch of "banker bs" I'm pleased to share that we will be closing this upcoming Thursday.
That is great news both ways. "Just right" is perfect and your property extension is also just in time to grow. Also in both ways. It's a cool morning and my Feline alarm clock went off at 05:30. Although I like to jump back into my bed after letting them out, sleeping for an hour more - as desired as it may be - seldom works. Until there is a nice rain storm going on. Just the right amount - not too much.
Now it's tea time and reading some SS. My daughter will come over with the kids and I will have them join me feeding the Horsies. Then we might go into a scale model shop to get another airplane for Prince Charming to look at in his room's sky. P.S.: Love the tree trunk, too!
I wasn't planning on growing anything yet in the new property - but since you suggest that - I might just go ahead and plant a few peppers there for the hell of it. Sad news is the sprouts don't seem to be growing well - I'm not sure why - that is why I think my future is in "overwintering" peppa plants proven!
I think that only makes good sense and like everything else - I'm learning on the fly but I'm a quick learner. Ask my friends. I may lose a game or two against them, but if we keep playing the "same game" you can rest assured I come back and WIN! Not always mind ya - cause I got some good game playing friends - but most of the time I learn my lessons - "like a good Catholic boy" - and then I apply what I learned so as to play better next time - and of course - I play to WIN. Who wants to play with anybody who don't I querry!
Thanks for that Note to sott.net - cause I been there a long time - I think I have a reputation at that place. I think my reputation is that I am a mean son of a bitch!
ha, ha.....
Keep em coming Wolfgang - we are a small group of talkers - but word has a way of getting out is what I think - cause ahhh..... good ideas resonate! That is why - ask Kropotkin! Ask Schumacher. Mutual Aid and Small is Beautiful, respectively - man I wish them fellas were in the room with me now - we would enjoy each others company.
Hi Ken! Checking in. Please don’t harass me under my articles. Happy to engage with you here. Otherwise happy to entertain comments relevant to the actual article I wrote over there!
Hey - I'm not trying to be mean, but I checked back and now you have deleted ALL of my comments on your article - but fact of the matter is Alexandra - there were only 2 comments last I checked....so really - tis not advisable to delete comments - that is not a "trigger" for me - and I plan on riding the roller coaster in Queensbury - the COMET - I'm sure I'll find somebody to ride it with me.
Seriously - I'm not trying to be mean - but Substack and Fiver are not the same. I know you know that - and "wow" imagine finding your aunt's clothes line randomly....what are the chances of that?
Thanks for posting here Alexandra. If you read back on my articles I share my policy regarding comments - and I NEVER delete a comment unless somebody is being threatening - and I hardly was that. Tis inadvisable to delete that you think might be inconsistent with your "story", but tis your place and your discretion of course.
Warm Regards to you - and I've learned a lot at your place - I just think "safe spaces" are delusional - and if we can't share without censorship, then that makes it hard to share in general.
Warm Regards to you and thanks.
Ken
ps - fact of the matter is - I've never deleted a comment here - never - not one time. I confront those bringing negative vibes - and then let the talk speak for itself. I don't know why you deleted those comments - this is Substack for goodness sake - a place where folks can still talk for real.
The comments had nothing to do with the article I spent a lot of time creating. It was simply you taking a parental tone with me as if you’re my relative. That’s not your place to do. Happy to keep things business and talk about relevant topics… like the actual article I wrote. I also won’t be guilted into commenting because someone pays for the subscription. You can unsubscribe if you’re not receiving the attention you want.
Thanks for letting me know I can unsubscribe - I considered it - but that would be sort of a "childish" reaction - would it not?
So for now - I remain a "founding member" - whatever that means....
Substack ain't the same as the place you made so much funds and then got burned out with it - and to treat your founding members as if they need to be taught a lesson - that ain't endearing.
Regardless - thanks for posting here - and that is what I requested and you did it - and you can rest assured - I won't delete you input - cause I appreciate you.
Ken
ps - I suspect you won't appreciate this - but as a young man grew up in a Catholic family of seven children - let me tell you about guilt! Us kids from the 70's grew up in big Catholic families are MASTERS of guilt - ha, ha......love you and keep sharing but truly - let the discourse go as it will....some things are beyond regulation and the effort to put rules upon them never has good consequence is my council. Friend to friend I hope you sense.
My mom was one of 6 in a Catholic family. I know guilt and guilt tripping very, very well. It definitely has no place in 2025… we are in the age of Aquarius and innovation! I am excited for the future.
You are lovely - I support your efforts - I plan on taking pictures of butterflies in the future - you wouldn't believe or maybe you would all the images I have - lizards, squirrels, robins, figs, sparrows, and perhaps my favorite of all - swallows - even though just the day before yesterday some swallows came and flied close to me and told me to "bug off"....that was fun!
Fair enough on that - but it was all in good humor.
Why delete that?
But tis your prerogative - but if you read back here a bit there have been times I've engaged with posters and the outcome being I didn't "delete" the thread was that we all learned something - and if you go down the slippery slope of over-managing comments - when you gonna have time to plant your crop?
So free speech is what I believe in - and sorry if I offended by being off-topic for goodness sake.
Oh boy....sometimes I wonder - us Gen-X types - we are tougher than nails not easily upset and not quick to delete - but again - tis your prerogative - but other readers now will wonder - what was deleted? And in general - that is not good for business is my council.
I know you are busy and so am I - I got a room to finish painting.
Any comments that have absolutely nothing to do with a very long article that I spent many hours writing will be deleted. It’s my substack! I spent a decade being told how to be and what to say on Fiver. Not here. Any comments relevant to the actual article are welcomed! I engage with people daily on here. I log on multiple times per day. But I already have a mother - I don’t need another one. Anyone who wants to talk about the actual posts is very welcomed, even if they disagree with me.
With what I said in my response - I'm going to hold you to what you have just typed - and you didn't "trigger" me - seems I triggered you...if you think about it.
And really - I think my comment was "on topic" but of course I view all comments as such - and then if somebody says something I don't concur with I engage them in debate - so please.....lets not cancel each other out.
I’m sorry deleted comments trigger you. Happy to chat again when we get off this very childish topic and back to what I write about on here. I got some milkweed seeds today I am very excited about!
The thermometers look like it's either too hot, or too cold!
That means its "just right" - correct?
😊

Well if you want to belabor this - how is it that my comment wasn't on topic....oh shit - no way to remember - cause it was deleted!
That is my point!
