I'll trade the fiat currency there for 2 troy ounces of silver.

Buffalo_Ken's avatar

So, the fiat currency was a Grant, a Jackson and a Washington in paper bill form - that equals $71 - (US Federal currency fiat paper and such), and just like the paper the constitution was written upon, the Constitution of the Us of a......well, like I said I'll trade that 71 for two troy ounces silver proven reliable - my preference is the Libertad.

So, the current spot price for silver is something like $23 and so if you consider my offer, then it must mean I feel the value of fiat currency us dollar relative to silver is fixing to go down rapidly.

So - make a deal.

I'll accept any silver coin proven troy ounce 2 please for 71 dollar on this edit.

"It was in a blender and that is all I will say, but it has been found and that is that."

🤣🤣🤣

You know the odd thing.....the odd thing is we usually break that blender out in August for making some Margarita frozen beverage and it was just an anomaly that we went through most of August not doing that cause had we, I would have found my wallet that inexplicably ended up "in the blender" (ha, ha, ha......). I think I know how it happened now after the fact, I went to Chick-Fil-A and got a spicy chicken sandwich and then I must have thrown my wallet into my large canvas bag for safekeeping and I reckon now not realizing that I had put the blender in that same bag cause I used the blender (it is high-quality) to chop up some excess zucchini, that I later put in the "presser" to remove excess liquid and the only reason the blender was in my bag is because I was packing I reckon to depart where we had been cause we thought we ought bring that blender back - just in case we wanted a frozen margarita. You get that correct - I mean I know that was a long sentence, but what is the value of going through an experience if after-the-fact you don't assess based on new evidence revealed what transpired? I like to go back and try to understand - try to learn.

The sad thing in a way is while my wallet was lost and we drank no margaritas inexplicably cause usually they are one of our favorites, the sad thing is....Jimmy Buffet passed.

What a crazy world we live in today Margaret - it ain't crazy good - it is crazy over the top and you and I both know - it doesn't have to be as such. Still, can't deny sometimes it is just amazing to me how things unfold and at the end of the day I feel like I have learned a lot about myself and what is important to me with the losing of my wallet inexplicably.

(smiles to you +)

Warm Regards to you Miss Margaret Anna Alice!

Aww, I am delighted to hear that, Peter! Ken found me long ago and was one of my very first supporters, bless him 🙏

Bless him indeed Margaret - what a fine figure of a true human being. :-) AND we share gardening interests which might be crucial in the years to come!

If you all don't mind will you quit blessing me - I have some dirty work I need to get done!

(ha, ha)

Blessings are to be honoured as they are given Ken :-) Dirty work not withstanding!

Ha ha - Ken - lesson learned: "Everything has a place - everything in its place" - our yachty world mantra. On my 35ft ocean cruiser I had 50 lockers. If I failed to replace anything in its place, it was the very devil to find it! And when in sinking condition you don't get much time to think about anything, especially when panicking! LOL. My 'grab-bag' is always by my side, even on land, for in these days who the f**k knows what's going to happen next!

Love the salsa story - hot love eh?

Well P&S, I told my friend who lives in the neighborhood - a fella I have known since Junior High and the fella it so happens who tied with me for #6 in the graduating class of '83 with 600+ graduates, that the salsa was "pepper rich" - ha, ha, ha.

Great advice as always you share and from now on I will be more careful with my wallet and the cards contained therein.

Ken

* ps - I do remember that we met at Ms. MAA's place - seems like years ago, but as always time moves on in one direction only - the future!

Oh, I should have referenced it - sorry: [Ephesians 5:10-16]

PROTECT & SURVIVE's avatar

Thanks Ken - got it: I love this passage - says it all for me:

"Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord; and stop sharing in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness; rather, expose them for what they are. For the things they do in secret are shameful even to mention. Now all the things that are being exposed are made evident by the light, for everything that is being made evident is light. Therefore, it is said: “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and the Christ will shine upon you.” So keep strict watch that how you walk is not as unwise but as wise persons, making the best use of your time, because the days are wicked."

Thanks Ken again - wonderful to re-read and remind myself of the wisdom of St. Paul. "Therefore, become imitators of God: Paul has just discussed some of God’s qualities, such as kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. [Ephesians 4:32]. So here, by opening with the word “therefore,” he suggests that contemplating God’s appealing qualities can motivate Christians to imitate the One who best exemplifies such qualities." [Psalms 103:12, 13; Isaiah 49:15; Ephesians 1:3, 7]

You know I need to study up on Saint Paul some more....there are some who consider him somebody who didn't really contribute in a positive manner....they think he sort of was the person who turned Christianity into something different versus was the original apostles desired, but life is full of mystery and wisdom will pass down if it stands the test of time.

PROTECT & SURVIVE's avatar

Oh, I should have linked this assessment of St. Paul for your studies, Ken:

I feel that I am a reflection of Paul's character as I suffer similar deficiencies, Ken, but I am working at it and praying for God's grace. Paul sometimes struggled with pride and had a hot temper. He says: "To keep me from becoming overly exalted, I was given a thorn in the flesh, an angel of Satan, to keep slapping me, so that I might not be overly exalted. Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it would depart from me. But he said to me: “My undeserved kindness is sufficient for you, for my power is being made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, then, I will boast about my weaknesses, in order that the power of the Christ may remain over me like a tent. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in times of need, in persecutions and difficulties, for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am powerful."

[2 Corinthians 12:7-10]

Ah - the arrow of time Ken - it is the destiny of us who are earth-bound - it has always been so since the Garden of Eden and that moment when mankind descended from etherial spirit to the lower energies of earth where we suffer to learn the essence of existence in our universe. St. Paul had something to say about this:

"Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord; and stop sharing in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness; rather, expose them for what they are. For the things they do in secret are shameful even to mention. Now all the things that are being exposed are made evident by the light, for everything that is being made evident is light. Therefore, it is said: “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and the Christ will shine upon you. So keep strict watch that how you walk is not as unwise, but as wise persons, making the best use of your time, because the days are wicked."

Well, I can go alone with this wisdom! :-)

It is a true story!

My stay at home Daughter can find any lost item for some reason. If she can’t find it, it’s history.

Buffalo_Ken's avatar

Well, my condolences to you for having a "stay at home daughter", but I trust you only are caring for her interest and so maybe it is a win-win? If so, no condolences necessary I reckon, but still a poppa likes daughters, but when it is time for them to grow up if they can and live a life independent, then a poppa knows - I did all I can to teach them about the real world and now it is up to them to choose.

If push comes to shove, pray to Saint Anthony I reckon, but not all prayers are answered direct.

PROTECT & SURVIVE's avatar

By way of explanation Ken: "Anthony is most famous for being the patron saint of lost things, he's also the patron saint of amputees, animals, Brazil, elderly people, horses, oppressed people, poor people, pregnant women, shipwrecks, and many, many more. As one of the most popular Catholic saints, St. Anthony is well-known and well-loved."

Some heathens might not know! LOL...

Bets AP (not a typo!)

Buffalo_Ken's avatar

One time I was in some serious trouble and Saint Anthony bailed me out.....so, I shared that story with my family direct and we all know about Saint Anthony.

One time I was in some serious, serious, serious troubling situation at least in my young mind at that time and then I let a prayer out to Mother Mary - and lo and behold, my troubles diminished.

Still, this lost wallet situation did not rise to the occasion where I would say a prayer to Saint Anthony, but of course I reserve the "right"....nah....I reserve the faith to make that prayer if need be - hopefully it will be the prayer unsaid.

Peace!

Ken

PROTECT & SURVIVE's avatar

Ha Ha, Ken - you and I know the power of prayer - but I am wise enough now, to know over these many years, that it is His Will for me, not mine, and thus I pray for His Will for me today.

I can assure you in all my life that He walks with me in whatever i am called to do in His name. This is why I fear not going forth into an adventure in foreign lands because His Angels track me at every moment. It is proven to me every day and this I cannot deny.

I am reading this book today, which also confirms in my heart, not my mind (the ego), because the author also experienced the magic of His Maker in real time! A wonderful read: He says: "I have come to realise that faith in God is enabled not just by religious statements or beliefs, but rather through an everyday relationship with Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit." https://www.amazon.co.uk/MY-GOD-CAN-BE-TRUSTED/dp/1915223202

And what a wonder Ken - I didn't buy this book - it came to me out of the blue - in the post, without my knowledge. Is this the angels working or what? I am humbled by His Grace.

Blessings

She works and pays her own way and helps with chores and grandkids. She is happy here and we are happy to have her here. Not like some of the millennials who wont leave home and don’t like to pay their own way. She does no drugs or alcohol and very Christian. Win win for everyone.

Sounds like a daughter any poppa would be proud of......

I love my daughters, but I'm not sure I could live with them full time in the same home anymore now that they are grown women - and I suspect they feel likewise, but when we are together, we always enjoy each other's company - one day in fact, I think my youngest daughter and her future husband will move into our place in Charlotte - that way we will "keep it in the family"....so to speak.

Warm Regards to you Bert and your family! Seems like a win-win for sure.
