Looking good so far does not seem things are doing well

Hi Marty - The peppers seem to be coming along....I'm sure they would prefer the weather to be warmer, but oh well......later in August, I'm going to pick out some of the best peppers of each variety and then I will save the seeds for next season. By then the Tabasco should be very numerous and I'm hoping some ghosts will be showing up soon!

These saved seeds will be 3rd Generation of saved seeds and eventually I'm hoping I end up with peppers that are somewhat cold tolerant and with what happened this season, they might also be somewhat aphid-resistant since this season only a small fraction of the original plants survived the aphids......presumably the ones who survived had some sort of innate advantage - or it could have all just been "happenstance". Time will tell I reckon.

Remember - mid-August is when we make the salsa! (I already have a bunch of jars we can use).

Absolutely stunning Ken, thank you for sharing. It makes my pathetic beans look sick! I will post some pics when I feel confident they are in fact producing beans - this could take some time!

Happy gardening! :-)

Now just to get a bit ridiculous and you know P&S, I like word games and I think dictionaries are always being updated. So - caution is advised if one wants to get into the rabbit hole of semantics but let me say this.

Yesterday I told my Father in Law - toughest SOB I know, how much I love him and he understood what I was trying to say. At the end of the day he was a tired man being is an octogenarian and he has been through much. He and I sat there on the deck on his daughter's place looking upon the 4 generations gathered and the love that was there. The love and the sadness of course cause you can't have one without the other.

The best part, the best part I reckon, maybe not, but it was memorable, was when after my Father in Law a Vietnam vet full blood Colonel and a fine Chaplain anybody would want in the company told me about his response to folks honking horns on the roads upon him.......and some chick had the audacity to honk at us.....I'm just gonna tell you for the sake of my Father in Law I let that chick have it without any uncertainty and it was funny as hell and when the chick passed by us in her white Jeep and gave us all the "finger" that was the best part of it all......I'll never forget yesterday - I told my Father in Law that he is a fine man and I proved it in his eyes when he witnessed how I interacted with his kin! Our kin.

There is no love stronger than the love of family.

What a wonderful vignette Ken, I am with you all the way - I might have done something more - silly me - these snowflake millennials know nothing of life - they are just starting out on the road. Maybe they will learn from a goliath such as your father-in-law and maybe not. I would love to spend many happy hours on the stoop with him sharing a brandy or two, hearing his life experiences.

Tell him I love him from afar and share a lesson from the 60s (I was lucky not to go - but it was a close thing - my angels intervened at the last moment -it's not well known that the Brits were there too - oh yeah - nasty barbarians all)

The Brtis have been in this many conflicts since WW2! https://www.infoplease.com/history/us/major-military-operations-since-world-war-ii

P&S - rumor I heard is beans are so easy they could be abundant everywhere no problem whatsoever - and good thing about beans is you can eat them straight off the plant - probably best that way after a bit of rain.....thing is your runner bean may be a "fail" this season, but I think that is because the weather in England is off kilter and I don't blame you one bit for having a "Plan B" - if I was you I get the hell out of there myself as well!

Best to you!

Hey P&S - do you think there are discerning readers on this SubStack named BK Gardening Ambitions or some such?

Well, you got to figure, if there are any I ought be one of them, so I hope you get that bean crop in September.....maybe have a bean party with the neighborhood and everybody just eats them off the vine direct!

(ha, ha)

LOL - yes indeed Ken - and most of these ignorant Brits think that we need to cook them! Eaten raw - that's when the taste really comes through! All credit to your magical green fingers!

Hey P&S - eating em fresh is best I reckon!

I know sometimes I'm goofy and my wife sometimes thinks I'm literally crazy, but I have added a few more images from the game I'm playing on the "Whisper of the Wolf" story......you know the "Teeny Tiny Town" game I mentioned earlier....my high score presently (the game continues) on the map presented (there are others) is basically twice as high as the 2nd place score out of over 5000 submitted who happen to also be playing this fun puzzle sort of game.....sometimes is calms the mind to work on puzzles.

Peace to you from me & Peace to your family from my family!

Thanks for your good wishes Ken and are you the lucky one? My wife KNOWS I'm crazy; refuses to read any of my scribbles, and tells me only a madman would spend 12 hours a day tapping on a keyboard which I wear out in 6 months! Hey Ho - the woman's brain is not the same! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntvyMfRPKBM

Happy days!
