Update 24 - 81524
Finally - Some Ripening is Happening - Finally!
Last weekend I got together with friends for a fine game of “low-stakes” poker, and I bought with me several types of peppers I’m growing (I think there as an image of them on the last article) - and most of the peppers were not yet ripe. Although, per the “tasters” - one of the green ones was hotter than the only halfway ripe one, which was a bhut jolokia (aka - Ghost Pepper). Well, I’m pleased to report that I just got back to our getaway place, and some ripening is definitely happening.
Without further ado - here are some images.
These are more “ghosts” from the momma plant I overwintered - I have eaten several of the fruit from this plant this season and they have not disappointed - I suspect those peppers above are north of 1 million Scoville units - at least the ones that are deepest red: Scoville Scale.
This may be what excited me the most - I think these are Carolina Reapers - and they finally have started turning red - the reddest one - I already picked - and it is below along with a single ghost as well.
I’m guessing the Carolina Reaper is even hotter than the ghost - not sure I plan on finding out just yet - the old ghost I ate yesterday set me ablaze and these ones look many times more potent - they are definitely some “hot peppa” babies!
These are from just one of the many “cayenne jalapeño” hybrid plants I’ve got growing - look at the “pepper density” - that is a lot of peppa!
I’m not positive, but I think this shows the peppa type that was hotter than the ripe bhut jolokia when it was “still green” - still is greenish, but I suspect the peppas have increased in heat level - pretty sure that is one of the many Golden Primotalii plants - pretty good density there as well.
A couple images of tomatoes - there are many out there. Those are “Roma” and what I call “Big Cherry”…..
~~~~~~~~
Lastly here is a portion of the peppers surrounding a crazy tomato plant I’ve had to cage in that grew on its own from seed left behind - when I noticed it at first amongst the peppers I thought - why not just let it grow - little did I know the growing that was about to commence.
You might also notice the “Morning Glory” in the upper left - the flowers are a deep purple and really add to the ambience of the garden in the morning.
~~~~~~~
I suspect my next post will be showing some jarring of salsa, and I’ve also come up with an idea about some pepper sauce I intend to make…..till then that’s it for now - I hope all are well.

Oh boy - I hope I don’t get in trouble for posting this!
