Update #17: Carpet from Egypt Drying
And a few garden images as well as a kitchen update
There is a lot going on here at the Getaway place - the first image shows a carpet woven in Egypt apparently that was given as a gift from some guests who stayed at the place next door. We unfurled said carpet a few days ago and it has experienced sunshine and some heavy rain. This morning was “cleaning day” and I used a pressure washer along with some cleaning agent to wash this carpet thoroughly. It is now drying in the sun and let me tell you - this rug is heavy - especially when wet.
You might notice in the background the waterfalls is a bit brown cause there has been much rain lately in the river basin.
~~~~~~~
Check this out - I had to wash the “sh**” out of the carpet - then I carried the heavy ass thing into our other place, then it started smelling the place up. So I put it on top of the big ass couch my father in law shared and the kind fella worked on our deck whose name I ought remember but just now I can’t,
(Edit - I just remembered - his name was “Barry” - His carpentry skills were top tier - I said: “Barry this money conflict twixt you and Tony is bs and then I handed him another few $ bills and said - “look pal - tis not worth losing friends over money and I know you worked your butt off on this deck, but you all be leaving some negative energy upon the place - here take this extra money…. if you ain’t gonna finish the job, I guess Tony and will”….(and we did)!
helped me get this effing couch inside the adjacent home. Is that a fu***** sentence? Regardless, we got it in the home and I gave him a tank and a fishing pole I recall and he was compensated, and since then I have appreciated the couch there and today after taking the effing heavy rug out again and placing it in the sun and turning it over to place its back side in the sun, I think this freaking polypropylene rug made in Egypt - heavier than all out - is finally dried proper and free of its odor. So now it resides here - per the image below - and I’m not kidding around.
When I say I’m going to do something - I mean it. When I set my mind on something - I achieve it. If you think you gonna stop me in my ambitions - have at it - but know this - I play to win.
Not kidding around you mother effers. Now - if there is somebody desires pepper product, then just get a hold of me - I got some goods to offer up - I play to win and I play best cooperative style and I have a lot of long-time friends - and I mean this. I mean it - I can be meaningful - can U?
Some basil planted by my better half.
an odd picture but whatever…..there are some pepper plants there
These peppers are still alive and I suspect they are now established - I believe they have a good future so I hope they grow - also - do you see the “dove” in this image - a morning dove? Lots of birds in our garden - that is a good thing mostly - good fertilizer they leave behind in small doses as they also eat some of the bugs and worms….
Morning Dove behind bars imaginary! Eating worms easy I reckon - or other bugs - God Bless the Morning Dove is what I think!….
There is still work to be done, but the kitchen is coming along. Adding the fiberglass sheeting to the wall using joint compound is good exercise - let me tell ya! I’m almost done with that part of the job.
That’s it for Update #17. I suspect I’ll send another before too long - maybe in a week.
~~~~~~ Update - Edit #1 - Check this out! ~~~~~~
So - arrangements are being made - for a Game Day in Fries, VA. Do you want it on it? If so, contact the proprietor - a lot has changed in four years - let me tell ya!
That is one seriously heavy rug - but I’m strong enough to do what must be done and I drug that rug into its new place after it had been thoroughly cleaned and mostly dry and now it resides in a place very special to me.
If you want in on the “Game Day” event likely to be held sometime in August in Fries, VA - let me know and if I am aware of you and consider you a friend, then of course - you are invited to join the game. Just don’t be a baby if you lose - me and my pals - we are gamers through and through - we play to win - we play fair. We ain’t no pushover - but we always are looking for new players - cause at the end of the day - what we share in common - we are gamers - lifelong friends cause of that I reckon.
Peace,
BK

So now I will share a final image - and I’m over these recent contemplations but I think I would enjoy company where I reside in Fries, VA - from invited guest of course. The rug below is the best one in the house, but the room it resides within still needs to be tidied up - but I’m almost there - almost finished with the multi-year project. The place has really “sweetened up” and I feel bless to be here.
I invite a welcome guest invited proper into the old mill home I’ve worked so hard to restore in a way over that last 4 years or so - maybe 5 - to turn into a place in honor of the hard work of the folks built this fine community - to do this in my mind out of respect and in need of work worthwhile - to any guest arriving here in appreciation and good cheer and good will I say this:
Welcome to our Home

I guess I can’t help myself - but on this Memorial Day I lay out honor for all the soldiers perished in this battle - Twas The Battle of Cowpens - the only “double envelopment” happened in the homeland to be….. Twas the genius of Morgan - a back-country fella born in Jersey made it happen.
Now if one studies the “pie chart” above seems evident, the Brits got their asses handed to them in the Battle of Cowpens - and really the odds were equal coming into the confrontation - but the leader of the Brits - got his commission with payment only - little did they know the consequences of entering a sacred place of forest and resolute folks including the cousin of Washington once removed.
Final Edit I reckon (53124 1038) - as the Month of May ‘24 comes to a close, so does the counter job - after waiting two weeks - a coat of epoxy has been applied……this image “captures” it a bit - I call this “Epoxy Portal”.
