Update 13 - 92123
The Final Update for this Season
This is going to be a musing update where I know I’m not expressing all I want to share and when I know there could be an Update 14, but probably won’t be for this season in 2023 coming to a merciful end it seems. It is going to show dreams maybe realized - and maybe not, but better dreams for sure on the way I reckon.
So here are the images for Update 13 (ha, ha) and my peppa ambitions with some ghost still green, but let me tell ya they are already packing some heat cause I know….I still feel it in my nostrils as I’m typing this…..
I’m patiently waiting for the images to download and let me tell you lately I’ve been thinking that local is better….I mean who needs the damn internet. What good has it done for us I wonder. Who needs an effing smartphone that ain’t and only brings trouble?
I sure hope these pictures download soon cause my damn email has been so slow lately…I can prove it has been slower than normal and by the way - there are records of this - it has been recorded..it is as if everybody and their brother gets to read the messages before I do and that rubs me the wrong way for eff sake cause privacy matters - does it not?
~~here they are~~
After I took a nibble when I was walking inside with the green ghost pepper not yet ripe….I could tell it was heatful nonetheless and I didn’t eat everything I nibbled upon.
But I did eat those two pieces above and the heat remains still in my body and in my mind and it is just proper how I like it from a green ghost pepper I didn’t think was ripe. I may have eaten one other little bit of it beforehand just to make sure but bottom line is a little of this ghost pepper goes a long way and so why not save some and put some in the recipe as shown below:
The above image, the one directly above was taken after the image below but it should give an idea of the fate of the ghost pepper green parts cut off for the sake of cuisine - don’t worry I’m saving these seeds and there are other ghost - a whole bunch of them on the plants just outside, but I don’t know if they are going to ripen proper cause the temperature seems to be heading lower……oh well, what good is a ghost if it ain’t resilient!
Peace is on the way - I sense it!
So the one pepper above outside the ghost already discussed that gives me hope for the future and that is also in the soup shown when it was made after the fact is that cayenne-jalapeño hybrid pictured above or it could it be a banana-cayenne hybrid….either way, I tasted it after I took this image and this pepper is a keeper as evidence in the image below which is basically about saving seeds:
That sweet pepper red in the images above is also fine as well and so I know the seeds it provided were from a ripe fruit and so I saved them because I plan in advance.

So, I think that spells the end of the 2023 Garden Ambition here at Buffalo_Ken’s Gardening Ambitions SubStack……
~~~~~~~~~~
I reckon now I will work on next years ambitions and I’ll be back and might also have a few other things to share twixt now and then.
~~~~~~
Best wishes to all kind readers out there…..we know - together we are better!

(Update - 9/24/23)
I would like to thank my neighbors who shared some tomatoes that were used along with peppers from the garden to make my largest “salsa batch” ever…..
The ones with a “black-label” are packing a bit of heat cause they contain a ghost pepper green but vibrant and full of gusto!

OK, I admit it.....I just ate one more little bite of the ghost peppa than I should have....it is packing the heat and my tongue is on fire....I'm still alive but I guess I have reaped what I have sown!
Holy-Moly this ghost pepper is good for the soul and it goes a long way....I'm gonna pin this in memory of how I feel just now before I hit the save button....I'll pin it after and this ghost pepper it has some punch in it and I feel my lung clearing out and phlegm being moved and my body healing proper with a peppa grown with love.
I have been getting my garden plot ready for Winter. Trying something new with covering it in compost and clipping tall plants and letting them drop and stay there to help with wind and water erosion. Chop it all up with the big mower and till in the spring when they decay to turn them under.
A new idea we saw online. Time to start splitting and stacking wood for Winter.
