OK, this is going to be another quick post with 3 images probably.
Another Substack author got me thinking about trees planted, and so I took these pictures and I’ll describe which trees we planted and which ones were here when we got here.
OK - here goes:
OK, along the driveway to the left, I’ve planted everything you see there except the real think trunk near the top of the driveway. To the right, basically same thing….my mother law did plant the myrtle trees, and besides the one thick trunk to the right side of the image, I think I planted the rest including the cedars. And that baby Magnolia tree on the left of the driveway is a sweet baby doll - I planted her.
This is the other side of the house and shows some stormwater features and the three obvious trees up the pathway - I planted them one and all.
All the trees you see therein the forefront - I planted them except that one myrtle tree and I already said my mother-in-law planted that one as well as the other previously shown.

So, it ought not be complicated to understand this yard doesn’t really lend itself to a conventional garden because not much sunlight hits the ground - that is why we had to find a getaway place, but this place is our home! We treasure it. It is blessed in my mind.

One Day if we ever have a grandkid, I'm gonna say to that kid - 1 cent per gumball.
That will be fun.

Edit - I try not to edit to much and without pointing it out, I won't edit any message more than a few hours typed, but I think I'm within that criteria and I just looked a bit more close at one of the images, and actually there are 4 big trunks in the one image and I didn't plant a one of them - not the one of to the right, nor the one in the middle, nor the "two" that are really one cause they come out of the ground together. Those are the "gumball" trees, and let me tell you - the drop a lot of prickly gumballs. Let me see if I can find a more "official" link: https://georgiawildlife.com/out-my-backdoor-defense-sweetgum-tree
Sweetgum.......ha, ha. Something tells me those gumballs are good for the soil, and I sure as hell know, they are good for me when I need to get some exercise.

OK - this message is pinned!
Lovely Ken, thank you for sharing. I would love to show you some of my trees but I will wait a while until the blossom arrives soon. BTW I have no idea how to post pics to SS? What format should I use?
Blessings
