Time for Some Serious Planning
The Figure I made for my teacher daughter's permaculture class....
I think these two next image ought be self-evident, so I won’t ramble about them too much.
The 1st shows the status of the little plants growing nicely, but there are a few things that I’m a little concerned about…..all in all, they seem to be doing fine and I think there are more than 10 ghost peppers already sprung and just saw a new one this morning.
The 2nd image is a little drawing I did for my daughter (with updates added) regarding gardening ambitions at our getaway place. I have added the “garden plot” locations as they are now presently - G1, G2, G3, G4. In the comments, I’ll probably indicate what plants I intend on growing in each plot.
Hope all are doing well.

So, this is my present "thinking" on plant location.
~
Starting with G1 - sometime next week I plan on planting the beets, the onions, and lettuce out there, but I may also put a few of them into G2 near the edge next to some garlic already growing there. G1 may be in need of some "re-balancing", but this year I'm just gonna mix the soil a bit and see what happens.
~
G2 will mostly have tomatoes and cucumbers when they are ready to go outside sometime in May probably. Oh, G2 and G1 will also have some basil.
~
G3 will be dedicated to the peppers and they be in lines each sloping downhill - I'm curious if the position on the slope makes a difference - the soil up top will be "less moist" in general assuming the ground isn't saturated.
~
G4 is going to home for squash, zucchini, okra, and I might throw a few tomatoes and some cucumbers there as well and maybe even put some onions there for the fun of it...and beets as well and probably a few peppers - I might need to make that bigger?
~
There might be a few other things I've got growing, maybe broccoli, but I'm not sure - I had sort of given up on it sprouting........
~
OK - that is the report from me today. I've got work to do. I better get down to it.
Peace,
BK
So, I ordered two more grow lights cause I think I'm gonna need them. They arrived and I checked one and it works although the light comes out at one setting - I don't mind that really - fewer parts to break down. I've ordered some canning jars as well.
I don't have enough room at our place here in Charlotte and some of these plants want some room. So, a batch of the plants above are coming with me to Fries. Some will get planted in the ground outside literal I hope....while others we be setup under the new grow lights and a very sunshiny window we have.
So, that will be probably what is discussed my next "article". I do want to go on record though as being very proud of my daughters - without them I wouldn't be typing this and I only made the image above because my oldest daughter let me "audit" the permaculture glass she was teaching. I can't deny I was a "poor student" - never even turned in my "assignment"....ha, ha.
