As they continued their trek “home”, Sally and the Navigator and the young baby got to a place where they decided to rest for a few days, but then once again another squirrel showed up close, and the talking squirrel said as follows:
Us squirrels are aware you have shared the “chips” with the middle Rogue Communities (RCs) in the dry lands where not even the squirrels go, and we support your efforts. However, we also know “Mr. Navigator” you have ambitions to eat squirrel soup - but you won’t do it - we call your bluff
The Navigator was not amused and he had inkling to prove this whimsical and flippant squirrel wrong, but then the squirrel spoke up again and said boldly:
Check your ambitions for squirrel soup Mr. Navigator - there is a fawn in need of assistance. I was sent here by my uncle who saved your derrière’s when you unwittingly and unknowingly walked into a trap. You ought be more respectful of the squirrels, but Uncle says he forgives you for your hostility when you departed to deliver the chips Pigget Ungler helped you acquire to the RCs in the middle.
Here is an image of the fawn the impudent squirrel shared with effect:
Pigget Ungler is dead
The Navigator responded and then went on to say:
He only helped me after he betrayed me and I held a sharp blade upon his kidney. He didn’t live up to his end of the bargain and why should I care about this forlorn fawn?
The squirrel grinned in a smirking way with this question because apparently that is the question the squirrel was hoping to be asked - the squirrel then provided an explanation after which the squirrel scurried away with a twinkle in his eye and the Navigator realized - there was going to be a detour on their way home. He just had to figure out how to tell this to Sally. She was probably not going to be pleased about this turn of events.
Chapter 1 - Some Legal Mumbo Jumbo
Take for what it is - this is the mumbo jumbo happens in legal-speak round the world these days - most of the time it amounts to nothing, but this time it spoke to a fawn about to be harmed:
So you see, there were boggs, and there was benzine - there was a strom and there were osterhues. Let me post a bit more about this - it was in the discourse of the squirrel - shared with the Navigator:
Author interjection here - as much as it pangs me to do this I’m going to have to edit out and delete much of what was posted below - so if you captured it in the moment, then “God Bless” you I reckon, but this story ain’t about some Congressional hearing - tis about Sally and the Navigator, but I’ll be damned - that squirrel showed up today really got me out of the doldrums - so thankyou fine squirrel I reckon - and now time to delete…but first I will “Update” the story as is - and make a copy for ole-times sake - and then editing will be performed for the sake of the story - and the sake of squirrel communication - and most importantly the sake of the fawn in distress - so make note of this - I’m not kidding around
Oh my, “coronaviruses” you say….oh me oh my - I’m glad that squirrel showed up today - and now one more lesson learned I reckon.
But after that insubordinate squirrel showed up on the doorstep of the Navigator, he realized - the squirrel was sending a message legit - there was indeed a fawn in need of help - and the fawn needed help because of the actions of Sally and the Navigator indirect the help could possibly be delivered, and that is what he told Sally and he convinced her - we need to change course - this fawn is in need of assistance - and we are not independent of that - so tis our duty - our duty for the sake of life to come to the aid of this fawn got itself wrapped up and caught in a cage unexpected and most unfair.
~
The squirrel told more but then the Navigator interjected:
I can’t recall - are you pleading the 5th on this? You got no recollection on that - is that the case?
Oh my you squirrel - get to the point - who is the fawn in need of assistance?
~~~~~~~
This was the moment The Navigator was about to lose patience, but then this was expressed by the squirrely squirrel about to run away -
Huh?
ENOUGH - The Navigator yelled at the squirrel on his doorstep…enough is enough. Depart this place - you have shared your sentiment - now I will do what must be done….the fawn is already dead most likely - but I will dig deeper and will meet you squirrel in another place - and then we will get to the bottom of this. The Navigator told the squirrel what would happen.
And then the squirrel scurried off, but know this - a fawn had died of a blood clot and there is nothing that can bring that fawn back, but other fawns needed protection and the chips been delivered did not guarantee that - but those RC’s in the middle the Navigator thought - they best live up to their end of the bargain - twas agreed when I won the poker game and shared the chips with them……
I’ll do my best to get to the bottom of this the Navigator decided and when the Navigator made his mind up on something it was the same difference as a pack of wolves on the hunt.
Harm caused is evident - if not this for sure - then there is evidence otherwise - tis known and saving my family alone and getting back to home won’t end the harm if the fawns remain in jeopardy.
~~
The Navigator looked at Sally when she awoke after the squirrel visited him and he said:
Honey - there is a detour we are going to have to take before we get back home and then in detail he explained what he and the squirrel had discussed earnestly.
The look in his eye was not to be trifled with and she resigned herself to stay on the path with the father of the baby she held in her arms - the baby he saved when she lashed out at him and lost her sense of wit. And so - that was that. Their fate and destiny was with each other and a fawn was in need of assistance and that took precedence over their desire to just get back home - Sally knew this and she had faith in her Navigator who had never let her down. She had faith in him.
Chapter 2 - What the Squirrel Expressed
As the squirrel was communicating, the Navigator was thinking - I just wanted to get home with the love of my life and our baby - but now this squirrel is telling me that my assistance is needed once again. Eff this damn squirrel.
At that moment - the very moment the Navigator was thinking as such the squirrel said:
You shared the chips and you can’t pretend you got nothing to do with this - this is the direct outcome of your action - you are “called to duty” and as the emissary of the squirrels if you want to eat me for soup - have at it - but I call you out on behalf of the squirrels who know better.
As much as he wanted to refute this, the Navigator knew he couldn’t. The Navigator - a man accustomed to surviving on “rough seas” and paths not well travelled knew that every decision has an outcome, but those who put certain things in action have a duty - nay an obligation - to see them to the end - and the squirrel kept expressing - on and on endlessly - the Navigator slowly but surely with an open mind realized a detour was going to be necessary - and really it wasn’t a detour - it was just another curve in the trail. Another path to be traversed - another place to go - willingly.
As he watched the squirrel depart, the Navigator wondered how he landed where he did - why he was here - and when he was going to have a chance to rest…..but he set those idle thoughts aside and then began to plan in his mind how he was going to aid and assist not only the forlorn fawn lost already but all the other ones in jeopardy.
And then with dignity he approached the love of his life and said to her:
Sally - you know I thought our efforts were over, but seems a new chapter has begun and we can’t go home in good faith just now because the middle RC’s are now under direct attack because word has gotten out - they have the chips with which they can defend, but now all efforts are being made by the Base Infrastructure (BI) to exterminate them and the chips they have in possession as well. They want to control us all and now we have friends in need and we can’t just go home yet.
Sally and the baby both looked up at the Navigator with eyes that seemed innocent to him and all she said was:
I’ve told you once, I’ve told you twice, I won’t say it again - tis with you I am bound - I will go with you wherever you choose
And with that, they walked forward a half-days hike and then took a turn to the right back into the middle of the land; instead of towards their home on the coast and they were destined to meet the sister of the Commander who had been killed recently by the nephew of Pigget Ungler in an act of foolish misdirected rage against a good man had just gotten his sense of humor back.
The squirrel emissary had communicated directly with the Navigator that she, this sister fine, had information that was critical and essential for sake of eliminating the BI once and for all and that with the loss of the Commander this fate was upon the Navigator because he and Sally along with the baby were the only ones left who had the wherewithal to finish this job that beckoned. Funny twist of fate it all was cause the Commander likely could have finished the job on his own commission stalwart and strong with conviction, but Ungler’s nephew was a fool who thought he was getting “revenge” when all he did was become a tool of the nefarious BI entities. Par for the course I reckon the Navigator thought to hisself alone before he went to bed that evening….par for the course of the effing BI.
~
And so they chose together, Sally and the Navigator, and the baby in tow, to not take the easy path home, but to finish the job they were born to do I reckon - twas their fate.
~~~
And now dear reader - some music is called for - and so I share this in good faith
Chapter 3 - At Long Last the Snake Appears
As they gathered their belongings with plan changing another visitor emerged - and at long last it was the black snake they had missed so - the snake said this:
Kind of reminds me of this song about a big black snake eating a wedding cake:
(Next to come in was a big black snake ate up the wedding cake!)
The Navigator looked at Sally - he said this:
I don’t mind snakes, I don’t mind squirrels, I don’t mind frogs, and I don’t mind cows nor mouse nor cats nor snails nor fleas nor ticks for that matter. Humans on the other hand - sometimes they get on my nerves.
But there is a fawn in need honey - we need to help the fawn, he went on to lament.
Lets go Sally said in response - lets do what must be done and she smiled at her man - he was her Navigator whom she loved so! She loved him with all her being and the baby was proof of that - and they both knew their love for each other was indomitable - it was inviolate - it was a force undeniable and unbreakable. Their love for each other was firmed in experience on the field of battle and in moments simple. Their love was forever.
Then they took the turn away from home desired happy easy and that snake came to say hello at long last, and in their minds together -
that was a good omen for better ideas and better times beckoning
The snake went its way, it had sent a message and the message was well delivered and well received - it was appreciated and that evening Sally and the Navigator had a good night’s sleep and they were hardened and ready for a new day no matter what happened - it didn’t matter really cause they both had faith in their love for one another. They were married to each other - man and women genuine with a baby born already and another on the way.
Chapter 4 - In a Fierce Mood
The Navigator awoke looked at Sally the baby still asleep and thought to himself - fuck this assignment to find and protect the fawn, but the assignment has been delivered and I accept it - even if I just want to go home - so know this - the Navigator did not appreciate those pulling string upon him, and while a choice was made and communicated with Sally - he knew was a temporary detour and come hell or high-water the more important thing was getting back home - but for now - being he chose and Sally agreed to fulfill what he expressed he would do to the insubordinate squirrel came and shared the message of a fawn in despair - he knew what he wanted most, but when the Navigator committed himself to a task - he was equivalent to a Wolfpack on the hunt, and with Sally in support and he of her as well - they were a force to be reckoned with - and up till…….
Sally awoke - said lets go - and the Navigator without skipping a beat pulled their camping gear together in the pack and off they went to find the fawn in need of help.
Woe be upon the entity harmed the fawn is what they had in mind and the trees began to sway as they departed with Justified Retribution in their minds.
Chapter 4a - On the Hunt
As they got on the trail, they both were hikers hardened for sure - been in the midst of battle - saved themselves only by wit with each other in close communication and grit solid and firm together, the Navigator with eyes serious said to his mate Sally:
Honey - as we get close to the destination provided by the squirrel emissary I want you to know that it will be “shoot to kill” if there is any uncertainty because we didn’t choose this assignment - but you and I know unspoken it is full of peril - it is not what we desired and we have a baby with us - and she is what is most important. I will die before harm comes upon her and I won’t let them harm her. Shoot to kill Sally.
Sally looked upon her man - who had navigated her to this moment in time and she said simply
Understood - you can have faith in me
And the Navigator did have faith in Sally - why do you think he would give her the gift of his love.
And it was a week or two walking on the trails - backtracking just a bit, but they were used to that - it happens in uncertainty…..but they had come to realize that together they were better in finding the path to be taken and when they put their minds together - mutually - they were stronger because they were synergistic with each other ideologically and in the moment. It is sort of like how a pack of wolves on the hunt know they have a common goal and then they work together knowing not everytime will we get a meal, but if we are a wolfpack that survives, then we will eventually get what we need to eat - and in the end the Wolfpack knows:
We always get our prey
Chapter 4b - Around the Corner
A map will be provided soon enough but around the corner they came as they walked the trails and in a flick of the moment when the delirium changed on the fly, the Navigator sent a shot to kill upon an entity moving amongst the trees - and while the shot was not a kill shot - “thank goodness it missed” - it did put the entity moving suspiciously in the moment upon the ground and when Sally and the Navigator got to the person moving amongst the trails unexpected - they were beside themselves that this wise old fella should a figured a better way to meet up was not harmed severely.
It seems Ebenezer Jeffries had gotten wind of their travel and he wanted to assist and had a message from home to deliver - and when the Navigator apologized for missing in his bow shot with a grin on his face - Ebenezer scowled and said -
I’m still alive you son of a bitch……thank the heavens above you missed
And then to the mystification of Sally, the two of them laughed at each other and Ebenezer tough fella he was with scars to prove it…..stood up on his two feet and handed back to the Navigator the bolt that came upon the side of his skull and hit a tree just behind him - it did remove some of his hair and he was none pleased about that - but he was still alive and now he was re-connected with his young friend who was the son of his best friend from his youth.
Ebenezer with dignity even though he was bleeding on one side rose up and said - know your place young man and then he said - do you have any food or do we need to catch something?
The Navigator looked at Sally initially and then he laughed out loud in joy to have a friend from home nearby and he said:
Dear Sir Ebenezer - you are a lucky man to be alive cause you know my aim is precise and it must be I sensed a friend afar fore I let the bolt loose - and that is why it only skimmed off your skull old man……
and then he smiled at the familiar face and that evening together after an embrace genuine they shared with each other happenings of their lives of the past few months since they had last been together. Ebenezer looked upon Sally as the Navigator talked endlessly and in his eyes he sent love to her from the local RC.
After that they slept nearby in tents in a camp and in the morning after a fine breakfast meal of eggs saved careful Ebenezer shared the news with the Navigator - and in one way twas good news and in another way not so much, but Sally and the baby were there and good company was shared and if nothing else their spirits were raised by virtue of time together with trusted company and a friend long time from home.
Ebenezer after a long morning discussion - said -
tis time for me to go home
But then, to his surprise Sally rose up in the moment and said - NO.
You must stay with us Ebenezer
I won’t take “no” for an answer was in her eyes both the Navigator and Ebenezer witnessed - and the power of Sally was there for all to sense.
This was unexpected in the moment. The Navigator looked upon Ebenezer - the friend of his father long gone and he said to him with a twinkle in his eye:
Nowadays when Sally makes up her mind or says this is this or that is that or this is that or other way around Ebenezer - then I know when to listen Ebenezer and it seems you are coming with us on this journey together and there is really no rush cause we didn’t choose to go this way, but I want to say to you - right here and right now - that I am so happy to have somebody I know and love in company with us as we continue our efforts at the behest of the squirrel emissary I already discussed with you - so what is your pleasure sir - make a choice.
And then the Navigator fell upon the ground with weariness in his eyes he didn’t want Ebenezer to witness, but both Sally and Ebenezer saw it and Sally looked at Ebenezer and he knew he was now part of the company and there was no turning back.
Together the three of them and the baby continued towards their destination just a few days away and in his heart the Navigator felt comfort that his father’s friend and a man he respected had joined them to do what must be done.
Chapter 4c - “What I Miss”
When they got up the next day, the Navigator had already been awake for an hour before the others roused….the Navigator had made breakfast and they sat down and shared a meal together.
After being mostly finished in getting early morning sustenance, the Navigator - and mind ya he knew why Sally told Ebenezer he had to be part of the company (at least he thought he did) - said this:
Do you know what I miss the most? I miss having a garden and having plants to tend. But, I’ve been on the paths - I’ve been traveling from here to there - and Sally as well lately - and there has been no place to settle. Ebenezer - do you know just how much I miss my garden - do you remember the things we grew together at my Father’s place - do you remember Ebenezer. Moreover, Ebenezer - I couldn’t do it then, but I want to do it now - I want to say this to you directly:
Ebenezer looked up from chewing and the Navigator said:
thankyou so much for “coming to our rescue” when I came back to the RC with Sally - whom others considered a stranger….
Ebenezer truly enjoyed the breakfast he had that day - reminded him of the fine meals his wife used to cook for him and he glanced up at the Navigator and said -
I’m an old man and I can’t walk the trails like I used to - I don’t want to be a burden upon your ambitions, but if you and I ever get back home - then we will have a garden of learning and all the RC children will look upon it with wonder….pass the butter Ms. Sally…
Sally, handed the butter to Ebenezer and then she said this:
My Navigator has had his will tested and his skills challenged and here we are Ebenezer and I too remember when we met in the middle there and I remember the blindfold placed over my eyes and I recall the escort as well - it seems so long ago - but your company is needed and there is no rush on this mission - is there? Is it not better to have company of others together? Plus, we have a baby with us - we need to be delicate and we need to go slow, but I think together…we are better.
Ebenezer used his index finger to stash off a bit of butter and then he placed what he had accumulated upon the breakfast biscuit and licked his finger for good measure and then looked upon Sally - she was a beauty undeniable on the outside and the inside - he knew. Then after he swallowed the tasty butter he said to Sally:
You sweetheart saved this fine fella who means the world to me and you young lady have a pure heart and know this - I would do anything you want me to do - so when you say I must stay - then stay I do.
They all laughed at that and the breakfast meal bounded them together
After Ebenezer expressed this as only he could they stayed in silence most of the day and then after meandering along the trails they were one day closer to the task at hand. Together they would prevail - or together they would fail - and that included the baby as well. It was a party effort - they were a company of four in the moment and there was love in the moment.
Chapter 4d - Two Days Later
Two days later as they walked the paths together, sometimes slipping on rocks and getting on each other’s nerves, another moment arrived and Ebenezer was taking a piss or doing something else, the baby was sleeping sound, Sally was minding her own business, and then the Navigator dropped the news upon her the only way he knew how:
Sally - there is something else the squirrel communicated about the wife - I mean the “sister” of the Commander we both knew when we shared some “prison-time” together - and it involves your father.
This was sort of the last thing Sally wanted to hear, but she knew there was more to come.
Sally - your Papa has himself wrapped up with some foul folks, and he has blood on his hands. There is a good chance he is going to be there with the sister of the Commander we are going to visit - make yourself ready for that and know this: the squirrel said to me:
He is not to be trusted
What you think about that Sally - tell me more about your father honey……
Just then Ebenezer came back from around the corner - and the Navigator looked Sally directly in her eyes - and he meant business and she could tell.
Chapter 5 - Sally’s Father
Sally’s father was a BI man through and through - twas the infrastructure of central control that appealed to him - or at a minimum it consoled his mind and formed a sort of rationalization for why he had to deliver all the harm he did. You see his grandfather was obliterated back in the 2030’s when the BI plans were stifled and lucky for him his mother was not at the base when her father made the order as the “Officer in Charge” to release the missiles that never got off the ground but the ordinance within exploded nonetheless - and Sally’s father never met his mother’s father - he was born about 15 years after the fella was turned to dust, but the family remembered the day he died and in continuance of central control ambitions, the family members vowed to take control once again. At least those in the family remained convinced in BI ideology.
Sally’s father had a lot of blood on his hands. The Navigator had never met the father of his mate eternal in his mind, but soon they were about to be eye-to-eye, and then the moment would occur when Sally’s father met his match. The Navigator was the quickest shot in all of the land - cepting maybe Sally when she was in a crunch.
Chapter 5a - Proof in the Pudding
The Navigator was talking with Ebenezer on the trails and he told Ebenezer about the travails that he and Sally had been through - and Ebenezer was up there in the years, but Ebenezer did not slow the party down - quite the contrary - he was a source of good morale. Plus - with Sally and the baby - breaks were needed and a beauty of their time on the trail just now was they were not in a rush cause they were not expected - they were traveling of their own volition and that is when Ebenezer noticed light reflecting.
He didn’t need to say a thing and the Navigator pulled out a crossbow, and remember - “twas shoot to kill”, but the Navigator had bolts for many functions and the bolt he shot was toward the area where Ebenezer had seen the light reflect and sure enough when it hit in the area it lit up the surroundings and there was a group there who really were unexpected and then the Navigator after sensing the moment pulled out another bolt and he sent it true. After it hit the desired spot those who caught their eye in reflected light on trails most untraveled laid down upon the ground and went to sleep because you may recall the Navigator was a forest Ranger and he had bolts for many purposes and he was a purveyor of various types of fungus as well as a student of chemistry.
The Navigator looked over where Sally was and she sensed the commotion - he didn’t need to speak a word - she knew - hold tight in place and she did until Ebenezer came back later and said: “the coast is clear”.
Ebenezer and the Navigator did the same thing they have done so many times and they approached the ones under the cloud of the bolt released. The Navigator deftly handed to Ebenezer the root to chew upon that provided immunity from the aerosol the bolt he released upon impact. They came upon a party of three all sleeping peacefully it might seem to a bystander - little did they know they were too close unexpectedly somewhere folks ain’t usually - and being the times were precarious they got put to sleep by a bolt well aimed.
It didn’t take long to determine they were out of the Base Colorado (BC), and the Navigator was not in the mood to take any chances and so he and Ebenezer employed an RC tactic they had done many times and had mastered. The three individuals had their pockets emptied, shirts removed, pants as well, socks and shoes also. Their eyes were blindfolded, their hands tied behind their backs together in a rather awkward way with poles in the ground such that if one of them moved beyond a matter of inches it caused a bit of tension painful upon the others - this was a good way to create disincentive for behavior undesired……then as another “layer of protection” their feet were bound individually their mouths taped shut and within one nostril material was placed to block airflow. Twas really most precarious for the BI captives and historically those been treated as such did not live beyond a few days.
Finally, after the smoke cleared and the haze of the moment began to depart her body one of the captives awoke slowly and then in a fit of passion when she looked upon the Navigator moved harshly and promptly broke the arm of her companion who was still in a daze but his body contained as such began to shake in a most fitful manner. There was nothing to be done - he was under the spell of the sleeping cloud he had been within. He perished a few minutes later and she was well aware that her harsh movement killed her companion - in a way.
The Navigator and Ebenezer looked on stoically and the captive lady realized she was in serious trouble. But with that being the case, the Navigator, who could be most cold-hearted to enemies made some adjustments to the ropes and the poles and now this lady conscious became aware that if she lashed out again - her other companion may also perish.
Both Ebenezer and the Navigator went about the business of setting up camp - Sally joined them at a distance out of sight but close by after Ebenezer went back to her. She was not knowing what to make of the situation, but she had a baby to tend to, and that took priority.
The lady in captivity held so firmly began to have fear for her life and her breathing via just one nostril became the way both the Navigator and Ebenzer had heard so many times before when they had been hunted but then turned the tables.
Well that is what she deserved - because she is not a good women.
And that dear reader is the truth…
Then the other member still alive in her party awoke. Both Ebenezer and the Navigator who were watching most closely recognized the fella - and they had some things to discuss - it was not going to a court - rather it was going to be Justified - many lives were on the line - and if you are a captive, best to be honest and tell the truth when your captors mean serious business - I mean life and death.
At this moment the Navigator with Ebenezer there as well were in top form because they cared about the RC’s and they knew twas time for the BI to learn the final lesson about what it means to be human.
The Navigator approached the other captive slowly and as he came closer to what appeared to be Pigget Ungler? he said -
I had a feeling you might still be alive - is that you?
The body flinched in a way seemed unreal and then a light flashed and everybody was blinded - except the Navigator cause he had an intuition this body that looked like Ungler was fake and so it was. The Navigator had closed his eyes in the moment and then delivered a swift blow with his knowing knee and the fake pigget went back to sleep deeply. This was not Pigget Ungler - it was an imposter - it was one of the BI’s latest “creations” - half human - half robot. The Navigator pulled the mask off of it.
Chapter 5b - A Mockingbird
The Mockingbird has tremendous range of vocal expression - even the Ravens can’t help but laugh amongst themselves when a Mockingbird takes to whistling in the wind - they can’t help but be impressed by this birds stamina. The thing about a Mockingbird is not only do they like to try out various tunes just for the sake of hearing themselves, they are most protective and have no qualms about letting bigger birds know - and so they can both mock with their incessant whistling and fly adeptly to clip the bigger birds getting on their nerves doing something the Mockingbird doesn’t appreciate.
The Mockingbird knows the bigger bird could harm it if it could just gets its talons on that annoying bird, but the bigger bird knows if it tries to to that, then there is a good chance something could go wrong and it would end up hurting itself permanently just because the Mockingbird was defending what it considered to be its territory or perhaps the Mockingbird was just offended by the bigger birds attitude.
Regardless, The Navigator was a big fan of Mockingbirds and he noticed there seemed to be one following their party, but the party was in a fixed place for awhile after they buried the one sad soul who perished when the angry lady jerked with aggression towards the Navigator after their party of 3 (now 2) had been wrapped up in a fine RC weave of rope and poles that created incentive for captives to behave.
~
So this is the mockingbird singing tunes and acting indignant.
An interview was going occur soon amongst the captives and the captives must realize - you are under suspicion - so best to speak the truth honey - cause the Navigator does not take prisoners and justice is fierce.
Chapter 6 - An Interview
The Navigator and Ebenezer dug a shallow grave and placed the body of the dead captive within it - the fella didn’t deserve to die the way he did, but he was part of the emissary group from BC and a “causality of war”.
We all are responsible for the choices we make and the affiliations we have
Sally was camping nearby with the baby away from the captives and they likely did not know she was even around. The Navigator and Ebenezer were seasoned in matters of this nature and no doubt Sally could handle herself, but the Navigator was unwilling to risk the baby and Sally concurred - so they kept a safe distance when the Navigator and Ebenezer returned to commence the “interview” amongst the two captives now both conscious but firmly detained in place.
This is how the interview occurred as the Navigator and his older friend returned from burying the body.
We know you come from Base Colorado
The Navigator stated and they looked back at him with eyes blank.
Ebenezer removed the tourniquet from the mouth of the feisty lady and said simply:
I advise you to be truthful in response
The Navigator approached her closely not in an intimidating manner, but with deliberation and simply said:
Why are you on these lonely trails and where are you heading?
She gave no response and the Navigator repeated the question.
She gave no response a second time.
The Navigator opened his medicine bag and applied an ointment that soothed the wounds she had on the side of her cheek. Being she was completely wrapped up and contained she could not stop him……but her look was one of complete disdain….and then she whimpered….
Don’t touch me you pig….
He rubbed the ointment into her and said…
Don’t be “cheeky” with me honey - if you value your future….
And then as the Navigator knew it would - the ointment began to take effect. As it penetrated her pores and the fungal matter well crafted in lotion began to flow in her blood her whole body and her mind began to relax and she felt as if she was spinning away…….
Do you know who I am?
She heard herself saying even though part of her had been trained not to say anything or reveal anything….but she said it nonetheless as she felt her body float away and her pain diminish and she couldn’t help but be attracted to this man stroking her cheeks with what felt like love from long ago…….she felt all resistance within her departing and she felt herself entering a state of ecstasy for lack of a better word and she was helpless to prevent what was happening and she fell into a spell so pleasant in her body and mind….
Maybe it was a minute, maybe an hour, maybe a week later for all she could sense, but she heard the next question from the face close to her that seemed exquisitely beautiful in countenance….and he whispered:
I don’t know who you are - tell me please
She then proceeded to spill her guts and truthfully answer all the subsequent questions while her half human half robot companion watched on helplessly.
A similar process, but not exactly the same occurred after the women was interviewed and this time Ebenezer questioned the bot man and after that - the bot was taken out of commission and another chip was acquired.
Chapter 6a - Information Gleamed
After the interviews were done, the captives were unaware, but Ebenezer and the Navigator had a choice to make. They didn’t take this choice lightly - they had learned so much in the interviewing process and neither of those interviewed were individuals with merit - they were compromised and hateful in ideology. They were directly responsible for the suffering of so many in the RC communities and it was known.
The Navigator wasn’t sure what to do with the captives - so Ebenezer - the practical man he was suggested this:
Lets just set them free - give them pardon to choose - and then lets follow them and see where they go and what they do
After all the info been revealed - some of it was new and most temperate in timing, unexpected to a degree, but not surprising….the Navigator contemplated Ebenezer’s suggestion and said -
That is a good idea, but lets go ahead and use the chip acquired to benefit
Then in front of both Ebenezer and Sally and the baby as well, the Navigator suggested a plan of action - and all agreed.
So one day later they came back upon the captives still held tightly but fed and in fair condition, and said simply:
Do you desire pardon?
If so, say so now on the word of your soul and all the RC’s and it will be given and you can depart and begone with no animosity as we watch you closely
If not, then you choose as you do and suffer the outcome
The choice is yours and make your choice now - otherwise, we will not leave you here as you are - so misbegotten. We will hunt you down immediately!
What is your choice?
Both the lady revealed so much in her ecstasy and the man-bot revealed so much as well under the control of Ebenezer in hypnosis (especially within the chip taken) didn’t say a thing and then that was that. They made their choice and it was “in the moment”.
The Navigator untied the lady whom he has questioned and Ebenezer untied the former robot man lost his soul already - and said to them - you have one minute.
They both sat there dumbfounded and remained in place and then true to their word, The Navigator and Ebenezer hunted them down - and then that was that. They left the bodies behind for the vultures as they departed those lost all merit and got the fate deserved by virtue of all the harm they had directly caused and their choice to refuse pardon.

In the meantime Sally observed from a distance, and while it was distasteful, justice is justice. Later that evening the Navigator shared with Sally some of the information they had gleamed about the BC plans - and the three of them together decided what to do next. The beauty was with what they knew now - they had learned during the interviews where the fawn was located - and that is where they were headed together. They also knew the location of Sally’s father and they intended a future visit with him.
They also knew that the Commander’s sister’s location and who she was and what the mission had been for this BC individuals afraid of anybody with a mind of their own. They took with themselves the mask of Pigget Ungler as proof - along with the chip recorded it all and they took pleasure in the reality that momentum was in their favor and the BI authorities were beginning to get their own medicine of fear.
Fair is fair and Justified Retribution takes no prisoners.
Chapter 6b - Information Gleamed on the Next Chapter
If there is going to be a chapter 6a there must be a chapter 6b I reckon, but know this some chapters are short and such is the case with this one - Sally and the Navigator were going to stroll along slowly along with Ebenezer and the baby growing daily.
They were on the trails and just assume be at a home place steady, but they knew they had the fate landed upon them fairly - cause they were just being what they were born to be. Fighters is what Sally and the Navigator were and are and always will be.
They were on the way to make some visitations upon others and now they had all the info and really it was going to be a piece of cake - it was just simple sharing information with others and choosing peace.
The RC’s choose peace - tis the BI believers think they got all the knowledge and want to enforce their ideas upon others - but tis the RC folk’s know better - and really the lesson was already delivered - so lets avoid that mistake again is what the Navigator whispered in Sally’s ear as they fell asleep on the trails wondering when they would finally get home.

The End…tis Part 6 maybe?
Part 5 is Over please…
Oh boy - I'm reading back through this story about Sally and the Navigator completely - I have made a few edits and I might make one more or two - but basically - this story is TOLD.
I have no idea how this story unfolded in my mind, but sometimes I just let my fingers do the typing.

~
How many of you all “out there” remember the squirrel from NY?
I do - I think that may have made a difference - just like the story bout Sally & the Navigator in my mind.
So Part 5 of this long winded story winding this way and that is over - the end of Part 5 I reckon.
I'll tell Part 6 if you want, but I'd just assume not to be honest because when the Navigator confronts Sally's Papa it ain't going to be perty - tis going to be a confrontation that leads to more than just broken ankles I tell ya - so I'd just assume not tell that story - but the story must be told....so maybe...maybe not.
