Looks like the prepper's peppers in full display! ;-)

Guess what - the peppers transplanted are still alive I think and I actually transplanted a 3rd one that was a little baby with some ripe pepper already and I just put its roots in water - cayenne pepper that one is and it seems actually surprisingly perky....

But that isn't what I want you to guess - you will never guess the origin of the material in the images shown above under the decking area......see Parzival what I did with the carpets I ripped out next door at our other place adjacent - and these were quality carpets - rather than take them to the dump I placed them around the perimeter of the other house for the sake of controlling undesired vegetation and making it easy to walk around under the deck and for other reasons and really - I've done this for decades at our other place in Charlotte - and you wouldn't believe the low maintenance wonderful moss we have growing all over that yard - I think it is not independent of the carpet and that is how one things sort of leads to another for the discerning mind just learning....

ha, ha.

Hope all is well with you brother!

I should add I do NOT recommend carpeting around the perimeter of foundation for most places in the southeast at least because it may keep too much moisture close to the home and that leads to issues - I did have a 6 inch gap where I placed small pebbles even in this application, but at our home in Charlotte I have mostly stones and other features to rapidly remove water from the foundation in order to minimize potential rot and bug infestation. But the place here at our getaway place - these homes are basically built on bedrock not far down and moisture issues (as long as things are sloped properly) are of less concern because the water drains away naturally. In fact, if anything many of my efforts here have been to try to retain that water for the sake of the yard and garden.

So, just a bit more detail with respect to placing carpeting outside, but in general, I know how carpeting is manufactured and I'm not concerned about any chemicals leaching (for the most part) and the reality is carpet can be most useful in the garden and yard in general. That is my 2 cents on this topic.

You know at some point, I'll post some pictures of the moss in our yard in Charlotte. That young fella doing the "moss" study - that was good and I'll try to watch the rest.

My Mother in Laws maiden name happens to be Moss!

I transplanted the peppers as indicated in the images above (per the latest and probably final edit from this morning). I dug them out of the ground with the soil basically "as is" - I didn't water them before hand, but I did try to minimize air exposure to the roots during the transfer process. That ghost plant in particular was a little weighty and one branch did break off.....the other pepper, my hybrid baby (cayenne with something else...maybe jalapeño maybe banana) that is special, and I'm not fooling, it tastes just so proper when deep red purely ripe which you see the picture - that is one fine pepper and no pesticides, no herbicides, no "industrial" chemicals were used for it to grow healthy. So this baby is the real deal and I want her to do well. That is why I'm trying to save more than just its seeds - I'm trying to save the momma plant for next season.

I declare the 23 Season a success!

Warm Regards to all readers and if you want to know something about peppers, I can either answer or likely can refer you to somebody who knows better in regards to the question if I'm not sure, cause one thing I learned early on in my career.....if I wasn't sure about something, I just said I wasn't versus worrying whether others thought I ought know or not - if I don't, then I don't know and I ain't gonna pretend I do cause that just leads to future difficulty when inevitably you get revealed as an imposter more worried about what folks think than about the truth.

Plus, for me pretty much the main purpose of being alive is to learn and if you care more about what others think then the truth, that is step #1 to the end of learning and becoming a zombie, a dimwit, or an old fart pompous.
