Overwintered Peppa
A history - going back in time....
So, I have three plants this year that are being “overwintered” - Last year I had two.
One of the three plants this year is the same as one of the ones from last year. (It is in the record - check back if you doubt this….)
Tis the “ghost mama” going on three years now - and look at her - she still is making some fine progeny. Look how red and HOT they must be!
That is what I call “a fine momma proper” peppa plant - knows how to make fruit. She is the “apple of my eye” - being we been together now a long time.
~
But, notwithstanding that, I’d like to focus on the “first” plant in the image above - the 2nd one mind ya was planted in a pot to start the season and so it was easy to keep as such for overwintering - she is the daughter of the other plant overwintered last year - but the first one in the image above per the viewer’s perspective - that is a special plant no doubt.
So let me share some history on it - and you decide how it looks “now”.

Tis is an image of it when I literally had pulled from the ground as documented in “Update 27”:
Update 27 - Harvest Time! - 92524
Storm on the way - lots of rain, then it gets cold after that supposedly - so I decided today had to be the day. Below is the part of the peppa harvest for the ‘24 Season at the Garden of my Ambitions:
I realized the next day that pepper plant was “special” - and so I put back in the dirt with high hopes.

This is what it looked like when I found it again:
(It is 1405 of the same day - and I’m just waiting now - for the message to get delivered - it has three images on it showing the history of the plant above - I’m still waiting - tis 1406 now about to be 1407……tic toc - oh it just arrived…)
This was a few weeks ago - same plant - earlier in time…
I think this was a week or two after when there could be no doubt - this pepper plant is still alive!
~
Oh - this is a little “baby doll” showed up in the yard - there are tons of them around here - I think she was nibbling on something just before I took this picture “digitally zoomed” - and really I concur with an acquaintance of mine who says “optical zoom” is the only way to go to get the clearest of images.

At the end of the day - I’m pretty pleased that pepper plant I ought not have ripped out of the ground the way I did is still alive - cause I realized this is a fine pepper plant and so I made the effort to put it in soil after it had been ripped out of the ground roots and all and left exposed for about 18 hours - but then I put it in some moist soil and it rained hard after that - and that plant evidently is still alive.
This a Golden P plant I saved - along with many of the peppers it had on it - seeds in particular. Just goes to show - maybe when it comes to “overwintering” a stout plant doesn’t mind getting trimmed a bit…..
~
I plan on putting that plant in a special place - and I hope it lasts as long as the Ghost (Bhut Jolokia) “momma” has - she is most impressive - her seed came from a friend in the neighborhood - and that is a fact.
~
So now all you readers here - all 101 of you or so - now you know more about me and the kind of gardener I am. I am very ambitious!
Ha, ha.
Go Bills!
Ken = tis 1417 now - I don’t foresee any edits to this post….

I enjoy going back and reading articles - I enjoy it more when they have music - so this music resonates with me - being I’m Gen-X!

So I just discovered two things - I'll share.
1. In addition to the baby of the "jalapeno-cayenne" hybrid momma I overwintered last year - in addition to her "baby" planted in the pot start of the season is a "sweet pepper" I just noticed this morning - not kidding around! (brings me joy!...).
2. Oh my, I think have forgotten the other thing I was gonna say - it wasn't really important I suppose, but when I remember it, I'll come back and post it here - it had to do with the plants being overwintered - I think I noticed - there is a switch on the "surge protector - power supply - with a timer" as to whether you want the "mechanical timer" circuit in place or not.....and I had inadvertently set that time in the "off" position, when it should have been in the "on" position resulting in "light" 24-hours a day for these plants - and guess what - just like humans - plants need some "down-time" - when it is dark and other reactions can occur - that's what I think, and I'm not sure that is what I meant to mention -but it will just have to do.
~
I got a game I'm going to watch and some "wings" I'm going to cook in hot oil that is heating up as I type this - and I also intend on eating some sweet potato french fries - I might do a "compare and contrast" in the taste of both the wings and the fries - cooking them in our air fryer as well....but guess what is the "beauty" of cooking in oil? Once the oil is heated up - the energy of cooking is minimal and actually much less versus and "air fryer" the exhausts much of the heat!

How you like them apples and Go Panthers!
