My New Setup
Laptop Simplicity
(Hey - this is an edit - the Bills one - so tis the day after - time to be happy - but one game at a time is what any could coach knows….so be happy but the Super Bowl awaits the team who knows - one game at time - Go Bills! - end of edit - 12025 2147)
So for many reasons I recently chose to acquire a “new laptop” and as I said to my family - I have made efforts to keep “nefarious forces” away from this device.
So - you must realize I am a peppa farmer at heart, but I got some chickens coming - and lately seems eggs are getting hard to come by - and I ain’t an old fart. I still got it.
I am not afraid of “new technology” and I don’t mind new ideas, but some ideas stand the test of time and some get proven wrong - don’t you think? I hope you do - and remember this - Go Bills!
Anywho - I’ve implemented my new setup in my main office - I moved some furniture around - tis good for the soul to do this every few years I reckon - and now the dust is gone and my new setup seems to be working fine - and it is amazing if one contemplates just how many pieces of the puzzle had to be connected to “make this happen” - I mean really - think about it - it is extraordinarily complex for one just discovering it I reckon - but after awhile if you consider how one good idea can build upon another - then it makes total sense.
So - here - here is my new setup in images:
Oh Lordy - the best part for me - is the high quality speakers I purchased - hells-bells - must be 20 years or more ago - Logitech - they still seem to be working fine and really I’m listening to Rimsky-Korsakov just now: Scheherazade op. 35 - holy moly the music is filling my ears as if I was in the theatre!
So - lets be honest - some technology DOES make life better - and so really - if that can be done does anybody doubt we can make enough food for everybody on the whole planet easy-peasy? If you doubt that, let me tell you I can prove you wrong - this place we reside is most bountiful!

Get this - using my “new setup”…..I have an image to share with my daughter. My daughter…she is a most accomplished women. She not only had her degree undergraduate…she has her graduate degree as well - from my Alma Mater - NC State. I mean come on - my daughter made straight A’s in horticulture at NC State - and she is the apple of my eye!
And so, I hope she doesn’t mind if I make a request to her - to make some of her “stitchery magic” - some of which is posted here at this Substack place - out of the image above - come on April - do it for Daddy!

In the “text” there, the author - somebody I respect deeply - speaks of suffering but seems to suggest it is inevitable in the game of life and death - and while that is a game fraught with despair, I separate my sentiment from the author’s in this regard cause I think this concept that suffering in “inevitable” is flawed.

I think there are some “chicks” out there who need to look inside and ask themselves - while I am so full of beauty - what is it I am trying to accomplish in the neighborhood?

Marty has passed away.....she posted here a few years ago, but damn she is so tough - hard to believe she is gone on to better places - I want you to know Marty - you won that monopoly game we played a few weeks ago - you woulda won it if you felt better......
In loving Memory of my neighbor in Fries, VA - Marty - she was the toughest Irish lady I ever known....
The time to "celebrate" a victory is the day after.....after that tis time to focus on the next game at hand.

I've been going back in time today - I told the love of my life - I said I have watched so many games the Buffalo Bills have played and sometimes I get a sense that the game is not going to end well and usually when this happens my sense is accurate - but in the game against the Ravens, I never had that sense - there was a calm feeling about it all - like victory was in the ice in Buffalo!

So the day of enjoyment always comes to an end - and then tis time to get ready and prepare - for the next confrontation!

You must know there are many in support of the Buffalo Bills - I believe......it is fun and good to have a team to cheer for - as long as the play is fair the refs call a good game (that occurred yesterday I think), and as long as there ain't no "K-Ball" in the game - ask Justin Tucker bout that......anyhow tis fun to win...but we all know that don't happen all the time.

And now on to face the Kansas City Chiefs they call themselves - well we'll see bout that won't we!
