Garden Update #21 - 72124
Oh boy - the peppers are coming.....some "mean" ones in the bunch as well!!!!
Just got to the getaway after being away for awhile traveling to Memphis and back. Here is Update #21.
Those are simple “sweet peppers”…directly above.
Cayenne
This is another sweet one, gets mention because I think it is the biggest one out there….
Oh my - I’m thinking those are some sweet hottie carolina reapers! Oh boy…
Now let me introduce the 2nd generation cayenne-jalapeño hybrid…momma plant is in the garden as well, but she ain’t doing that fine. I ought take a picture though of a pepper I pulled off of her - it was stunted in growth, but the color shows what color the peppers in the image above will be soon enough!
Here is what “momma offered up”, but last year the peppers she made looked more like the ones on the image of her “baby” 2nd Generation. Plus, the skin was smoother last year for this “momma”, but she is still a baby-doll in my mind. I really care about that plant and damn she still is pushing out the pepper - to her own detriment seems to me and she ought learn in the future to be like the ghost plant “momma” who is really doing fine. My guess is I may try to save ghost momma another year, but this hybrid momma - she is wore out with making peppers, so maybe she needs to rest….but she can sure in wisdom knowing 2nd Generation peppers she made are growing - that is something any momma ought be proud to know - she has passed down her code and the best part for me in a way is knowing I shared her seeds with friends and family - that is a peppa gonna have “my hand” in it and I hope future generation thrive - cause it does find the balance twixt spice and flavor - not overwhelming mind ya and most beautiful smooth read I ever seen!
More Carolina Reaper?
Oh boy, oh my oh my….
I believe these are referred to as…..uh, can’t remember just now but it is documented in an earlier article.
Last, but not least I’m thinking those are some golden primotalii’s in the making - if they get the pointy tip I’ll be more confident, but I know I planted a lot of em and that the pepper plants in the area are all doing well.
~~~~~~
There you have it - Update #21. I’ll be back with another when I have more evidence of what is what, but I can’t deny I’m pleased how things are going and being I been away for about a week, it seems these plants decided to really get it on in my absence and that is joyful for me.
Warm Regards to all readers,
check this out…
Edit - 72424 - picked this today - ate two chunks of it - including some membrane and it is “disappointingly” NOT hot yet…..
Maybe the peppas need a bit a time to ripen proper….
Next green one I try out will be from a different plant.
WOW those are some peppers Ken - you clearly have a penchant for hot stuff! I share your excitement but do you grow anything else?
I haven't had chance to read your link but I will later. I got a bit behind as I was disabled with a migraine at the weekend. Anyway, all is well here, and the weather is sunny but cool with rain showers later.
