Artistry in the Making #2
Tis an Ongoing Effort
Addendum - I’ve ordered the concrete - dug out more clay - and soon this workbench will be even in a better setup - where WORK will be done!
The light is coming in and the concrete is on delivery - and I’ll pour it after mixing it with water - and then that will be a work bench on solid floor with less dust and some head room after a bit of work - cause I like working hard!
~~~~~ it might be another article - but probably not - but an update will be provided after I mix the concrete with water and set this workbench in place - ready for doing what must be done - hard work that is I say ~~~~~
I ain’t kidding around!
This is the final “final” edit (the time is 111225 1118) - I’ve decided to “clean this up” a bit for easier and more meaningful reading.
First the images of the artistic project - and then some music and a few more thoughts:
Artistry is about a discovery of what matters and what doesn’t. So the flooring there is likely temporary - and better flooring be put in place - Put in place I suspect.
Those two images show the final coat of epoxy - when it was still curing and in that “sticky reflective” state epoxy has before it hardens. Most reflective - seems almost as good as silver when it is in that “curing state”.
This is prior to putting on the epoxy after I got the stout table legs affixed and filled in a few gaps.
It may not be easy to tell, but I had to dig out a lot of ground to have enough “head-room” to use this workbench in the making. The three images above speak to that and also show the first half of the workbench in place. Besides some screws and a few extra support pieces (probably not even necessary) this workbench only has six pieces and I know if I make something similar again - I’ll have learned from this experience and will be able to do better. In general though I’m pleased with the outcome and expect this most stout workbench will be around for a long time - I’m looking forward to using it.
And now a few more “artistic” images and articles followed by some fun music.
Steps to our front porch I installed I think like 20 years ago….wow - how time flies.
This was the first “Artistry” article - and shows several previous “epoxy efforts” - I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m pretty comfortable with using this epoxy and I think it creates both functional and aesthetically pleasing results.
(Can’t remember exactly why I included this article here - but I did so I’ll leave it).
~~~~~~~~
Now - here is an eclectic selection of some music as well as some examples of my whistling - which a long time ago I said I would record and I try to keep my word.
~~~~
“Whistling” is a pastime of mine….
Do any of you all remember I think it was a “Clint Eastwood” movie - one of the Western’s he made so many off….and there was a fella running a ferry service and he had to choose what to whistle depending on the customers arriving……business is business I reckon
Lastly a few closing images:
~~~~~~
Some odd lines in the sky today - the same day power went out (11/9/25) - I don’t care for said lines above I told my neighbor when we witnessed together the lines in the sky - she said she ain’t never seen anything like it and she has lived here basically most of her life.
~~~~
Here is some glasswork of merit I found during the digging efforts.
~~~~~~~~
Well - to bring this to conclusion below is a fine memory I happened upon - I miss you Evie - you were a fine Jack Russel companion.
~
Warm Regards to all readers - let the best ideas prevail - and we all are artists in our own way I think. It is good to do artwork.
What the hell? I mean really this is a 2-dimensional image - is it not?

~~~~~~~~~ ADDENDUM ~~~~~~~~~
Tis 111325 1013 - On a whim this morning it occurred to me and in short order I installed this shelf. It is unfinished and basically level. A fine shelf. Two more similar to go and it gives me pleasure putting that Ole Southern Red Oak heritage tree to good use.
Peace!
BK
I betcha that workbench I just finished under the place - and I got more digging to do - could probably hold about 50000 pounds of weight right in the middle and still hold STOUT.
You see Southern Red Oak - especially a tree hit by lightening has cellulose connections on the molecule level that are quite the amazing thing - and when the wood gets thick enough it is basically just as strong if not stronger being it holds its shape then steel.
I ain't kidding.
This peppa paste I have made is so fine. I mean you can taste it - just a little bit goes a long way, but it ain't as intense as eating the peppa direct, but it has staying power I say - it is still so warm in my mouth - and this is minutes after I consumed the chip.
What a fool my dentist must be to refuse a gift offered in good faith - oh well, the salsa mild he took and that is good - but this paste is something of high value - I know and so should have he - but chance lost Ghorshi.
