A Plumbing Job
Who wants to see the details?
Tell me - do you not think this image would make for a fine jigsaw puzzle?
It is so beautiful to me.

Plumbing is important and a good homekeeper knows how to do a plumbing job. So as often occurs, some home maintenance was identified last night - and this called for a plumbing job.
Now - who here desires an image of a “plumbing job” on top? Not I, so first I’ll share some images of some sweet flower growing at our place from a plant that was planted at least 20 years ago I seem to recall - maybe 18?
It is a type of plant common around here - but this one is sort of a less-common variety - can’t recall the name just now, but here are the images:
Really perty ain’t this flower?
~
Now - onto the plumbing job:
This is the piece that had a leak and had to be removed:
You can see the “crack” there on this piece of piping probably been there under the sink for more than 50 years!
The “leak” test has not been performed yet, cause there was a “sealant” I had to apply at a delicate connection and I’d just assume that sealant has some time to cure before I test for leaks. But the piece replaced slid into the drain line just like the piece that replaced it did! Its just the newer piece is made of PVC - but it slid in fine and then I applied the sealant. I’m sure there are other ways to do this, but after the leak test, if it doesn’t leak - then probably just saved the family a few hundred bucks for what it would have cost to get a damn plumber over here - I’d just assume make the repair myself thankyou.
~
So, as not to end on a “sour note” - below is an image of some plants about to go to the Getaway Place for delivery into the soil there - where the sun shines upon the ground moreso that our other place - where plumbing repairs are “par for the course”.
We do love our basil.

Any of you all ever really though deep about 10-1 odds?
~
the reality is if it ain’t divisible by 10 - on any ending of that “unending” number - it is divisible by 3 two times - like 3 squared = three to the power of two = 3^2 = 9.
So any number reads as 909090909090909090….ad infinitum - with the repeating pattern will be divisible by 5 and 2 or 3 and 3 - no matter the ending number in the sequence - but we all ought know you can’t have the number 10 without the number 9, but the number three would never be without the number 2 - and the number 5 is prime one time while the number 7 looks upon with bemusement in this number discussion playful and fun!
And - I find it ironic - this thought process commenced when somebody said something was 10-1 odds!

I ought add - even if it ends in a digit of “0” it still is divisible by 3 squared!
Cause think about it - add up the digits and if they divide by 9 - then said number is divisible by 9 - but if it ends in a “9” - then tis known right off it ain’t divisible by either 5 nor 2! Correct?
tis 1842 presently - that gives 921 - which gives 307 - which I reckon is most likely a prime number ending in the digit 7!
tis 1843 now as I hit the “update” button…
ps - I think Baric is a criminal. For the sake of both my alma maters - I hope he gets held to account.

I say - tis time for a transparent root cause analysis for once - but if that doesn’t happen once again - it will be most telling.

Nice work Ken, I've done lots of plumbing over the years when copper pipe and Yorkshire fittings arrived. Before that, it had to be a plumber who works with lead.
Cheers
